I wouldn’t like to have my belief in God based on fear or despair.Because the alternative is too horrible to contemplate.

Not enough evidence!Bertrand Russell was asked this question. He replied that if confronted by God he would say “Sorry Sir, you didn’t give us enough evidence”.
No more than to say that I believe any other person exists. The difference is that God simply is. He needs no human definition beyond that. We only know what he has revealed about himself, which is sufficient for us to know. This looks very much like a circular argument.
Anyone who reads about the miracle of Lanciano and it’s connection to the Shroud of Turin would say that there is more than enough evidence. It’s not God’s fault that people choose to ignore it.Not enough evidence!
The sun, the moon, the stars, the grand canyon, a new born baby…what about the eye witness accounts of all the miracles of Jesus…why would they lie about the feeding of the 5000, or calming of the sea?
Plenty of evidence!
Actually, there is an entire portion of apologetics devoted to something like that I think. This is the fourth argument from St Thomas, the Design Argument. It was attacked on a logical base by David Hume. Then Darwin came along and destroyed it with empirical evidence. It is still used as the argument from common sense, but nature is not built on common sense.
I don’t think that we can rely on logic or on empirical evidence for any solid “proof” for the existence of God. As other posters have pointed out, our belief in God is based on our inner knowledge and love. I see my belief in God growing through constant searching for a deeper understanding of human nature and the world around us.
Because the evidence of His existence is all around us…
…and because if you ever heard James Brown sing and saw him dance, you’d know that there had to be a God to make a man like that.![]()
He stacked the deck in His favor. He put Himself on our hearts from the beginning. If someone asked you this, what would be the very first thing you say?
