Y’know, there is another thread called “good points about Islam” on this forum that I should probably post this comment on, but I just can’t resist it here: In Islam, one need only say something good about Islam/mohammed, or something bad about Christianity, for it to be true; no proof is required.**Sedonaman, you have created good history for the Muslims. Thanks. You did not mention that there was a Roman Catholic kingdom (Emperor), very powerful. Why they killed the unarmed muslim traders and preachers in their country?? When asked to explain, the Romans were haughty and they brought on a big army of about 100,000 to annihilate the Muslims. Why they did that??
You should start your lessons of history from the right place. There was a battle at Yarmook. The Romans were defeated. That was the downfall or start of downfall of the Roman Catholic empire. After that, since there was no truce, so the battles continued and the result was what you have shown.
The Muslims cannot be blamed for starting the conflagrations. Same thing happened to the Persians. They insulted the Muslims (Arabs). Persian King tore the letter of Friendship that was written by the Prophet to the Persian King. Please read the history correctly or take new lessons in history.
What you have written is true, i.e. about the Muslim conquests. But who was responsible?? Not the Muslims. You asked for it. There is no use blaming Islam for that. The Muslims were fighting against the enemies.**
The Spanish inquisition was to convert the Muslims by force and threat of death by Queen Isbella and King Ferdinand(?)… Why they did that? That was a proof that Christianity was all false. It was not for any Peace.
Yes, if the Muslims had not been involved in internal politics and misdeeds they would not have suffered at the hands of the christian killers. Please remember the good result and fruits of the Muslim rule in Spain. It benefitted Europe a lot. Europe came out of the dark age due to the Moors in Spain.
You mean like the analysis I provided that you didn’t read so that you could understand why we flatly reject Islam and its false “prophet”? Smart people also don’t jump to the conclusion that others reject Islam just because of what they allegedly see in the media.…
Everyone sees all the bad media and the smart people who want to know the truth do research before coming to conclusions.
l have not directly answered the part i said about Satan being hate. Sorry for being picky but that was a key point of my argument and it has yet to be disproven.
you make a good argument with the bible verses. but there are also parts of the NT that say woman should be silent, are we to fallow them as well ?
Be at peace

I believe that your post is the best about all religions, the best there could be. We should try to understand and love each other instead of blindly objecting to others faiths. Not all are bad. In fact all religions are based on Truth, revealed by the same source, same God. They teach love and peace and no hatred. If any one is preaching hatred or voilence then that person (Muslim or christian) is to be blamed, not the religion.I don’t hate Islam. I just think it has been twisted and perverted by the teachings of some fanatics. This sadly has also happened in other religions, including Christianity and Judaism.
I do know that Islam reveres Jesus as a great prophet (altho not the Son of God) and also his mother, the Blessed Virgin.
I admit I do not believe in Islam as a religion (obviously, since I am a Christian!), but while there are things to be criticized IMHO about Islam, there are also many good things about it.
It is never fair to judge an entire religion by the actions of the worst, most extreme of its followers.
Yes, I have said some very negative things about Islam, but on the whole I was criticizing the abuses of the Muslim faith–just as I condemn abuses committed in the name of Christianity or any other religion.
God is the Creator of us all, and He loves us all as His children, regardless of our religion.
Perfect! :)
Hey Josh,((Now back to Islam, do you see now why we are to hate Islam but not the people who practice it?))
I still think hate is to be detested, i think we can be angry at Violent themes of anything but hate is so…Blind.
And i can’t honestly see how out of love you can hate, its an impossible paradox. Love is wanting what is best for someone, hate is wanting what is not best for someone (or something in this case.)
“You can hate the sin yet love the sinner” Well i think we should be angry at the Sin and Love the sinner, we must be angry at the Sin because it is evil and wrong.
Hate is of Satan Not God and by opening our hearts to Satan we are turning our backs to God.
((If any one is preaching hatred or voilence then that person (Muslim or christian) is to be blamed, not the religion.))

I am angry at Islam. Now are you happy?…

there are four parts inside that site … you will find the complete picture of islam … just choose and read
From what I’ve read from different people who have converted to Islam, there are a few main reasons for most conversions:
The Quran teach that Jesus is prophet or messenger from Allah and not a God so Quran denies the divinity of Jesus. The Qur’an says that Jesus was born of a virgin, that he spoke while he was still only a baby, that he healed the blind and the leper by God’s leave, and that he raised the dead by God’s leave.
- Muslims and Christians agree that God is self-existent. This means that He does not derive his existence from anyone. Also they believe in Jesus, love him, and honor him. In fact, no Muslim can be a Muslim unless he or she believes in Jesus, on whom be peace.
That’s what I got from Islam-online & Islam way women’s board and a few others of mine. Stats taken by many college groups say that women convert 4 times more often then men.
- Islam is a religious lifestyle, not just a quick Sunday morning church visit and a label. Although some Christians do pray before each meal and spend much time with their Bible, etc.many doesn’t in the West. Islam is something that can’t be shunted into a few spare hours. You pray five times a day. Your dress code is affected; even your food choices are explained in the Qur’an. Many converts like it because they feel actively involved and as if they are truly religious. Some people also studied Buddhism, flirted with Roman Catholicism or spent time with Quakers, but ultimately found them lacking.
- For women, it is a big and welcome change from the “in your face” sexuality of western culture. Women are not required by the Qur’an to veil. They are required to dress modestly and it is recommended that they cover their hair. However, most do veil and some go farther with niquab (the face screen) or other traditional clothes. Women dressed like this consider themselves marked as religious women, not easy dates. They don’t get hit on. No one gawks at their bodies. They are clearly off limits sexually and many say it is liberating not to have to conform to western standards of sexy dress, makeup and spending so much time and money on appearance. You buy a five-dollar hair cover, put your hair in a ponytail and cover, wear long skirt and a tunic shirt -you’re set.
- Islam is also growing because many people are not satisfied with Christianity. They feel it is too liberal, too fluid and changes for the culture. Islam on the other hand is more rigid and does not as a whole allow much for modern changes and the whims of society. Many like it because they feel other religions have loose standards.
- Islam has shown itself to be not only the most widespread religion in the world, but also the most dynamic, attracting converts at a faster rate than at anytime in the last 500 years.
jakasaki, the first possibility seems the right one. You are mistaken unless there are some harsh rules in favor of the catholics against non-Catholics in the CAF.I could be wrong, but this entire post, especially the link provided above is against CAF rules…
assalam,FROM THE QuRAN:
–The unbelievers are your inveterate enemy. (4:101)
– Mohammed is God’s apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another. (48:29).
– It is unlawful for a believer to kill another believer, accidents excepted. (4:92)
– Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. (5:51)
– Make war on them until idolatry shall cease and God’s religion shall reign supreme. (8:40)
– Fight against them until idolatry is no more and God’s religion reigns supreme. (2:193)
– The true believers fight for the cause of God, but the infidels fight for the devil. (4:76)
– We will put terror into the hearts of the unbelievers. (3:151)
– I shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads, strike off the very tips of their fingers. (8:12)
FROM THE SAYINGS OF MUHAMMAD:
– Muhammad said to the Jews: "If you embrace Islam, you will be safe. You should know that the earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle, and I want to expel you from this land. “
– Allah’s Apostle said, "You (i.e. Muslims) will fight with the Jews till some of them will hide behind stones. The stones will (betray them) saying, 'O ‘Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.’ "
– Mohammed said, "I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, “None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and whoever says, " None has the right to be worshipped but Allah , his life and property will be saved by me.” (otherwise it will not). Vol. 4:196
– Mohammed said, “Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him.” Vol. 9:57
– Mohammed said, " No Muslim should be killed for killing a Kafir" (infidel). Vol. 9:50
– Muhammad said: "Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war, … When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them…If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them. (Sahih Muslim 4294)
YUSUF QARADAWI, the spiritual leader of the Muslim brotherhood and the most popular and influential Islamic religious authority in the world today, is on the recommended reading list of local mosques. Among other Islamist-supremacist things, he wrote:
“Islam came to be followed, not to follow; to be dominant, not subordinate."
“Islam came with it’s complete, comprehensive, and eternal Sharia Law for the whole of mankind."
ABUL MAUDUDI, the most important and popular Islamic writer of the 20th Century, wrote: “The goal of Islam is to rule the entire world and submit all of mankind to the faith of Islam. Any nation or power that gets in the way of that goal, Islam will fight and destroy.”
Sounds to me like Islam is self-delusion as a group effort.see islam is a great thing … islam like the sweet if you test it one time , you will never ever leave it …

Zaki - the post from AGabriel are in islams books - koran and hadiths. The poster has even given you reference numbers so you may check them.assalam,

Assalam,Zaki - the post from AGabriel are in islams books - koran and hadiths. The poster has even given you reference numbers so you may check them.
You went from being and athiest, to a Christian and now islam.
How long did you study islam before you jumped in it?
And you have repeated part of his message in your post.…
Well I read the Quran and I bought the 100 most influential to read on Muhammed (pbuh) and I researched a bit on islam. Then I told my dad that I wanted to become a muslim and he took me to a mosque where i bore witness that there is only one God and Muhammed is his messenger.
Chapter 8:12 and most of it refers to the Battle of Badr which mohamad led against the people of the land.Assalam,
8:12 Remember thy lord inspired the angels (with the message): I am with you; give firmness to the believers: I will instill terror into the hearts of the disbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their fingertips off them.
I see no problem with idolatry ceasing and God’s religion reigning supreme I dont have much problem with the Quranic verses
