I don’t hate Islam, but I’m suspicious of it.
I don’t have much time for the “Islam is a peaceful religion” stuff, bearing in mind that in the 7th century the Church had 750 bishops in Africa, and thanks to the violence of Islam this had been reduced to 5 bishops by the 11th century. It has a formal teacing of Jihad, which Christianity does not have, despite the fact there has been significant violence in Christian history. Islam has a long history of deliberate violence inflicted not only on conquered people, but also on themselves. If that’s the best you can do, why should we think you 've got anything to teach us?
The violence inflicted on Hindus in India under the Moslems was the worst religious violence in history. Some local Moslem princes had a policy of killing 100,000 Hindus a year, for no good reason, other than bloodthirstiness. The area of Afghanistan used to be called “Hindu Kush” which when translated means “Hindu slaughter”.
Bearing in mind 9/11, modern decapitations, the oppression of women in many Moslem societies, that way that a phenomenally rich Saudi Arabia can’t be bothered helping dirt poor Somalis almost next door, the fact that Sunnis and Shiites routinely kill each other, that fundamentalist Taliban kill their fellow Moslems for the slightest deviation from their own teachings, the Moslem warlords of that region, and the lack of dialogue with other religions and thought is not indicative to me of TRUTH.
However, I’ll say this much. I used to be Protestant, and I remember my pastor commenting that he thought God, the Christian God, was going to use Moslems “because they take Him seriously”. The West doesn’t. Secondly I think God’s sick and tired of playing second fiddle to devious politicians thanks to the doctrine of division of Church and State which prevails in the West. Since there is no division of state and religion in Islam, I believe God’s going to use Islam as He is allowing it even now to shake up a complacent West, to bring about a doctrinal change in this regard. How and when I do not know, but that’s up to Him.
In other words, I believe in the Christian God. But since He is omnipotent, He can use everything to His own ends. Things that we see as evil eg. 9/11, He can turn to good. Although it seems He’s pretty rough about it. But then we kill hundreds of thousands of our own children each year in the abortion factories, and think nothing of it.
So it’s only a matter of time before He acts in terrible judgment, Mary’s been warning us about it, and I don’t suppose you’ve missed the significance of Mary appearing at Fatima in Portugal in 1917. Fatima of course was named after Mohammed’s daughter, due to a chain of circumstances.
But in 1917, something infinitely greater than Fatima appeared in a town named after her. And Mary would be nothing without her divine Son.
I don’t hate Islam, but I don’t trust it either. However I think God’s going to use you for His own ends. And as far as I’m concerned, that is why He has allowed Islam to retain it’s autonomy and given it the oil wealth it has today (and let’s face it - if it weren’t for that, we wouldn’t give two hoots). But because the modern world’s industrial lifeblood lies largely under Middle Eastern sands, Islam has had a revival, after centuries of being in the doldrums.

Actually there is proof that there is something fishy about 9/11. The engineering society (not the current but the one at the time) declared that it wasn’t possible for a building of that size to collapse from an aircraft of any size. The only way a building could collapse of the size of the twin towers was if it was hit from the very foundations.

And it is also true the the USA dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima and one on Nagasaki, and there have been Christian apologists who have tried to jsutify this, even though many innocent children were killed for nothing. There are some Christians and Catholics who are very much opposed to nuclear weapons, however, and I believe that their stand is the correct one. Unfortunately though, the USA is a supposedly Christian country and it set a bad precedent in WWII.
WWI and WWII were real horror stories for Christian Europe. Outrageous horror inflcted on millions of innocent people by Christians. Christians fighting Christians for what? All that misery, pain, suffering and killing.

Given that Egypt is 88-90% Muslim, who do you think is doing most of the divorcing?
