Why do you think forced healthcare is immoral?

What means? I’ve never been able to afford it, ever. I am not qualified for military service, so there’s no way I can use that to work. So exactly what the heck are you talking about here? Neither of those things apply to me or millions others in the country. I’m too sick to work full time, too healthy to get disability/medicaid. I live in constant untreatable chronic pain (That means painkillers don’t work, so don’t tell me to just suck it up and take an aspirin like you have in the past), so I can’t get a second job. Exactly what’s so hard to understand about that?
Some people ignore their sickness, pains, aches, and other limitations and still work hard enough to get jobs with good bennefits. Why should they be forced to subsidize those who are not willing to make the same effort?

The last time I worked two jobs I fell unconscious while operating a vehicle and woke up in the hospital four days later. Ignoring the pain in my body means ignoring when my bones are going to snap. I have osteoporosis. My skeleton is in the same shape as someone who’s in their 70’s. If I put too much work on it, they just break, or the joints completely give out leaving me completely disabled.

Why should people in jobs without good benefits just quietly die if they get cancer? Survival of the fittest again. Delivery drivers, cleaners, service industry workers… they don’t deserve health care.

They don’t have the right to demand labor from their neighbor for their inabilities, they can only be the receivers of generosity from the more fortunate.

Yes, but the money’s already being lost. Do you think I just sit around and let myself die? Obviously not, I’m here still living. I go to the ER, or I’m brought to it when I’m sick and unconscious. I cannot pay the bills. I either work with the hospital to pay some significantly reduced some, or I file bankruptcy. The financial loss is already in play.
ER Visits are up ,19% since MA passed universal coverage and costs have skyrocketed. under Obama Care the 25 year old who works out and is in perfect physical condition will pay the same rates as the 55 year old who is obese. smokes, doesnt excercise and has high blood pressure. My rates are going to go up as well the amt I pay for my employees which means I have to raise my prices or lay off employees or drop coverage for my employees . The bill was ill thought out and not understood by those who voted for it.

You seriously think that a section of the workforce should happily accept death because of their “inabilities”, ignoring the fact that there needs to be people doing these jobs. Compassion overload.

They have options, such as marying someone who has bennefits, working harder to get a job with a company that offers bennefits, or seeking other employment. However, many of these individuals are just accepting that they can stay where they are at and demand others pick up the slack for them.

Actually there will be a difference between the amount people have to pay. This legislation gives preferential treatment to those who choose not to work and exempts them from the penalties the rest of us will have to pay if we do not pay up for Obama-care.

They are the ones making the choices to take easier jobs with less pay. They should just accept the responsibilities that come with their choices. We should not be punnishing those who choose to do the harder jobs that are more valued by society.

Compassion can be more then an emotional response such as what we see with health care.

What is this emotional response and the situation? Government interferes with health care, health care costs rise, people can not afford health care, people want to help others, government offers “solution”, people want solution yet do not understand economics or care about The Constitution (emotional response), government increases their involvement in health care.

While it appears that giving health care to everyone for free seems compassionate and the right thing to do, yet when rationalized does not lead to a compassionate result yet the intentions were compassionate.
**
I am compassionate** because I want to protect peoples right to their labor( I will not endorse making people slaves of the system).** I am compassionate** because after you understand the economics of competition and the resulting price and quality you will understand that it is I who want to deliver the best health care to the most people at the best price.** I am compassionate** because I want to protect charity and not make it some meaningless government mandated charity, yet protect it as a loving selfless act.

When did I ever say I was doing anything physical that caused that reaction? Let me tell you, when you’re out for 60days a year due to medical issues and hospitalizations, you’re not going to get promoted. My body falls apart and I start to fall over, have blackouts if I’m doing much of anything for more than 30hours a week. I need 11-12hours of sleep to recoup even from what I do now, 35hours a week. If I don’t, I pass out. It’s not like, falling asleep because I’m ‘lazy’, I literally faint and black out entirely. I’ve suffered multiple concussions as a result.

Someone who thinks the individual chooses the job, I almost fell out of my seat upon reading that. You totally thinking in terms of the 1950s. Its the job that chooses you, where have you been?

No, you’re right: everyone should work their way up to the hard, well-paying jobs and let the ‘easy’ ones go undone. That way, nobody will have any kind of life worth living but life would at least be fair!

How can it appear to be right thing to do if redistribution of wealth is theft, as you practically said earlier? Even a positive result wouldn’t justify it. You’re attempting to appear sympathetic while arguing for some libertarian ideal that has nothing to do with compassion.

I want the right to keep all my income and I want the kudos from private donations to charity. Right or wrong, this is self-interest, not about the un-met needs of another.

12 hours sleep + 8 hour day+2 hours commuting & eating= 22 hours of a 24 hour day.

FYI many of us are lucky to get 6-7 hours of sleep a night before we have to get up for work again. We have no obligation to assist you in getting 12 hours of sleep a night.

Working. I even went through a mass lay off last summer and found there are plenty of jobs out there but no one seems to want the ones that require you to actually work.

Is having people working minimum wage jobs to serve you how you define a life worth living?

No necesary job will go undone, if fewer people are willing to work those jobs, then the wages will go up.
