AJ, you have repeatedly asserted that your salvation is assured while the salvation of others is not. You need to be accountable for your own assertions. There are examples in this thread.>>>MelanieAnne
When I say I believe in universal salvation it includes everybody period.
That is the reason why I am able to say brother or sister, and why I should love my enemies.
Jesus has enabled freedom of the soul from eternal separation as was not prior to His sacrifice.
That is why Paul says: Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
If liberty were a progressive work, then it could not be said "use it not for an occasion to the flesh.
What is liberty, or rather liberty from what?
Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Free from what? What is this liberty that was evident?
Gal 2:4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
What? They wanted to again require these free liberated disciples to come under bondage?
2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
We were married (in bondage to) to the consequence of eternal death via the story of Adam and Eve.
In Jesus the former spouse (Death) is dead and Jesus replaced it with life, the new spouse.
This is that liberty spoken of, freedom from the death sentence, therefore when it is squired, Paul says: 1Pe 2:16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
Here is understanding: Eternal death had been crucified at the cross. It was the end of it and the beginning of the new.
If we take the number 8, turn it horizontally, stretch it out, we have the sign of infinity right?
At the center of that sign the lines cross right?
If we open both ends of that sign we can see that the left half end of it gives us a picture of the beginning of life and to the right of that same half coming to an end when the lines cross.
We see a picture of the old coming to and end.
The right half of that same sign has a beginning at the cross and the right hand of that sign is open, meaning there is no end, but eternal.
That was just a simple picture of looking at both the old and the new divided by the cross.
We are in the new end of it because the old has come to and end in Christ’s cross.
If eternal death has been eliminated at the cross and life given free of charge, than it means every soul will be, if not now, eventually saved.
We can now understand why Paul says, do not use this liberty for our own gain, but to use it to serve God.
So, you can see my view includes everybody and why I am able to love everybody first, as brothers and sisters, and given to understand why I should love my enemies.
I give everybody the choice to worship God how they want because God’s spirit is who touches the hearts.
Condemnation is not from God, but from ourselves. We are responsible for this new found freedom in liberty, and we are either blessed or cursed according to our behavior.
This world is the spanking child evidenced by the evil that is done both in the secular world and the religious world.
I need not remind you of the misbehavior of some of the priests, let alone the misbehavior of some of the evangelists as well.
So then, the individual responsibility is to seek out the truth through study of the scriptures and trust no man concerning the requirements to adhere to this or that.
Jesus left us two commandments period!
We are free to exercise these two from the will and not from the requirement.
When born again, the desire is towards God, to change (repent) our thinking to conform to the new.
To exercise love, as He loved us.
Note: It is important to understand that when Christ was dying on the cross, there was no discriminating as to who He was paying the price for.
I hope you get a picture of what my view is.
It is not to tear down an institution by discriminating its beliefs, but that while they are in those beliefs, enlighten them to the wonderful gift of life we have in Jesus.
Peace>>>AJ
