I have several responses to make to your post:
(1) What makes you think God will let Jackson off “scott free.” He will be held accountable for his action, if not in this life, then in the next.
(2) Don’t use this verdict to indict the justice system. It is a good albeit imperfect system that puts the government to its paces if it wants to convict a person of a crime. It has flaws, but it is still the system that I would want in place if I were ever accused of a crime.
(3) Which would you prefer, a justice system that - from time to time - lets a “guilty” person “walk,” or a justice system that can try you in private, compel you to give testimony against yourself, and convict you on a scant showing of circumstantial evidence that would leave room for a reasonable person to doubt your guilt?
(4) Please don’t get me wrong, I’m no fan of the man. I think it’s horrible that Jackson will walk out of the courthouse a free man if even a fraction of what was alleged by the prosecution happened. But the fact is that the prosecution failed to convince 12 people that there was evidence proving the charged offenses “beyond a reasonable doubt.” It appears to me that, like it or not, the jury followed the law.
(5) If you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at the prosecutors for taking a weak case to the jury.
(6) As for the corruption and jury misconduct charges you level, it just sounds like sour grapes. Pick yourself up and move on. This is just the latest trial du jure. Simpson, Stewart, Peterson. The reality is that for the most part these verdicts have NO EFFECT on the rest of our lives. It’s sad that the media has devolved to the point of giving us nothing of substance, just "bread and circuses.
(Anyone up for discussing debt relief to poor African nations?)
