Why does God allow Michael Jackson to go scott free?

Sometimes I think God isn’t involved in any justice being sought out in this world at all. First O J gets away with murder, then Martha Stewart goes to Camp Cupcake to give cooking lessons to inmates on a prison farm for women and for a brief stay at that. Now Michael Jackson a 40yr old man who somehow sleeps with little boys gets off on ALL ten charges. Do I suspect “under the table” money payoff to some of the juror’s family members here? You bet. I still can’t believe our justice system has now hit rock bottom. But it has. Perhaps Martha Stewart, OJ, and Jackson will get their correct verdict at their judgment day.

Our justice system hit bottom when it declared war on the unborn,now you will see that it will only get worse.True justice and mercy comes from God not the Judges here:nope:
 
I am not a Michael Jackson fan but I never believed he was guilty.

Thats basically it. When we have Jackson and Kobe and Martha shoved down our throats its like there isnt more important things to talk about in the world. Its not just the justice system its the media who cant come up with or is avoding the real stories.
 
Since there was no untainted evidence that Michael Jackson or OJ was guilty of anything, I think their being released is a function of the outworking of the justice system.

I have several responses to make to your post:

(1) What makes you think God will let Jackson off “scott free.” He will be held accountable for his action, if not in this life, then in the next.

(2) Don’t use this verdict to indict the justice system. It is a good albeit imperfect system that puts the government to its paces if it wants to convict a person of a crime. It has flaws, but it is still the system that I would want in place if I were ever accused of a crime.

(3) Which would you prefer, a justice system that - from time to time - lets a “guilty” person “walk,” or a justice system that can try you in private, compel you to give testimony against yourself, and convict you on a scant showing of circumstantial evidence that would leave room for a reasonable person to doubt your guilt?

(4) Please don’t get me wrong, I’m no fan of the man. I think it’s horrible that Jackson will walk out of the courthouse a free man if even a fraction of what was alleged by the prosecution happened. But the fact is that the prosecution failed to convince 12 people that there was evidence proving the charged offenses “beyond a reasonable doubt.” It appears to me that, like it or not, the jury followed the law.

(5) If you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at the prosecutors for taking a weak case to the jury.

(6) As for the corruption and jury misconduct charges you level, it just sounds like sour grapes. Pick yourself up and move on. This is just the latest trial du jure. Simpson, Stewart, Peterson. The reality is that for the most part these verdicts have NO EFFECT on the rest of our lives. It’s sad that the media has devolved to the point of giving us nothing of substance, just "bread and circuses. 😦

(Anyone up for discussing debt relief to poor African nations?)

God will sort it out in the end. Meantime…pray for our children and the innocent’s who’s lives are considered less important than Rock Stars foibles.

Honestly, when I saw him walk through the metal detector I saw a man in need of a prayer. I said a prayer.

Dear Lisa,

Take heart. There is a rising tide of jurisprudence that is chipping away at Roe. And Terri’s case has - at the least - caused all of us to take a hard look at the need for a living will and durable power of attorney which would absolutely protect us from the kind of treatment Terri suffered.

But these aberations are not - in and of themselves - sufficient for an indictment of the entire legal system. There have been good and bad cases throughout history - consider the Dred Scott case, that paved the way for institutionalized segregation. The same Supreme Court came to its senses and later published Brown v. Bd. of Education, which dismantled “separate but equal.” So - yes - viewing the cases one at a time will give one a jaundiced eye. But just keep in mind that the system must be judged from a wider viewpoint rather than from the vantage of a single criminal case. The seemingly unjust cases of today lay the groundwork for progress and justice.

Take heart. Do not despair. Peace be with you. Ultimately, justice will prevail. 🙂

All they had to work with was inconsistent eyewittnesses in which the accuser’s mother also had a history of having bogus and fraudulent cases for money. Had I been a juror I would’ve done the same thing. There was inconsistent testimonies, no hard evidence, and a mother with a history of greed and fraud.

As for the OJ Simpson trial and Martha Stewart, that’s another story. OJ Simpson had a lot of evidence against him and Martha Stewart was obviously guilty and she should’ve been punished like a common citizen. The justice system hit rock bottom with Roe v. Wade and the Terri Schaivo case. In the world of secularism, celebrities, media, and the self are Gods. The Jackson case also shouldn’t have been that news worthy.

This is my conclusion too. Though I am disappointed by the Jackson verdict, I’m not surprised by it at all. We cannot convict people on a gut feeling. We convict based upon evidence, and if every single piece of evidence is polluted by some sort of corruption I would think it very difficult for a jury to bring a GUILTY in all good conscience.

And really, when I think about the Jackson case, the people I am most appalled by are the parents of all of these children. None of them have acted like responsible, loving and protective parents. What lunatic leaves their children with a grown man with a history of sordid accusations attached to him? What parent would leave their children for weekend visits with a man who acts like he is in arrested pre-adolesence? Their behaviour completely appalls me.

Because He doesn’t work that way!

He made the world and gave us free will to make of it what we can. He doesn’t force a jury’s hand one way or another.

If you start “blaming” Him for Michael Jackson or particular court cases what’s next? Hitler? Slavery? Disease? Earthquakes? Not a good road to start going down.

Several times, even. That is what is shocking to me. Even the prosecution is playing to the media, rather than doing its job.
