I tell you I lost my faith after seeing too many of these stories, where was that 5 year olds free will? It seems to me it was taken from her. She didn’t have free will, she was raped for days then buried alive in a garbage bag and shallow grave. Also the recent story of that boy who was kidnapped then had to beg for his life while being strangled and submit to being some crazy guys sexual slave for years in order to live? Where was their free will? Where was God in all this? You’re telling me God couldn’t have done anything to preserve these children from such horror while still allowing us free will? He’s God of course he could’ve, but he didn’t, so why not?I do not understand this either. I get that God is not going to intervene every time someone desires to do evil - that would not be permitting us freewill.
But I struggle terribly with children be hurt. I cannot tell God what to do, so I am focused on returning our laws to what they were before the 1960’s A convicted child rapist would have had only one victim because he never would have seen the light of day again.
Sometimes now they don’t even do jail time.
We should all lobby for lifetime sentences without the chance of parole. Death penatly where legal.
Then Christianity muddies it even more, apparently the guy who tortured that child can just repent and be saved, but the parents of the tortured girl will burn in hell for not being able to forgive the monster that tortured their little girl? In what universe can that make sense, God can’t be so unreasonable to understand humans do not posess infinite powers to forgive, and the pain of our children is like 10,000 times the pain inflicted on us.
After looking at the world I had to come to the conclusion that there isn’t a magic maker in the sky and suffering is simply random in a very tough world to get by in.
