Why does the New Testament God LOVE to burn disbelievers in hell? 😃

And I thought love doesnt hold records of wrongs.
The only ones who burn in hell are those who choose to go there by rejecting God (love). Hell is a state where love is totally absent. God has lovingly given us the gift of free will to accept or reject His love.

All the souls in hell chose to go there by their own free, will with full knowledge, and full consent. A.K.A. unrepentant mortal sin.

Love doesn’t hold records of wrongs that have been confessed with a contrite heart. However, love does not = license to commit sin.

the bible says God is love

the bible says love is not jealous

the bible says God is a jealous type.

Well the Catholics will go crazy over this one, But those who are saved will be judge for the good God has done through them God has not kept a record of their sins as they are covered by the blood of Jesus.

Those who reject God will be judged by their works as proof they deserve the fate them willingly chose while still alive in the physical world.

Ginger,

Catholics will not go ‘crazy’ over what you have to say.

It is not new; it’s the same old Lutheranism we have rejected for centuries - oh, let me clarify that: the same old heresies Luther perpetrated on us.

God has a memory for our good deeds, and our sins. He recognizes our faith, and our hope and our charity, and judges us according to our works.

The blood of Jesus does not cover over our sins. We are washed by the blood of Jesus; our sins, forgiven, are no longer there, and our souls are then as pure as the new day sun.

Keep telling us what will make us crazy. What makes us ‘crazy’ is that you don’t get it.

I am not justified solely by the imputation of the justice of Jesus, to the exclusion of the grace and charity which is poured into my heart by the Holy Spirit (Rom 5.5),
I know also that as for salvation and final justification, I am not guaranteed anything, not guaranteed that I will perservere in grace until the end. It is my fond and greatest hope, however. God does not predestine me or anybody else to heaven, or to hell.

OSAS does not hold water with Catholicism. I reject Protestant theology on this important point: ONCE JUSTIFIED I CAN SIN NO MORE, NOR LOSE GRACE. Not so!

Grevious sin requires that I seek repentance to regain the loss of grace, but there remains the punishment due for my evil works
The sin has been washed and blotted away, but the debt I incurred must be discharged in this life, or in the next, by prayer, fasting, good works and merit of God’s grace, and/or Purgatory in the next before I see God.

I’ll give you the last word.

See, I told you so.
We just don’t buy into any modern Protestant concept of being saved IAW with OSAS.

We believe the ancient Christian of how we are saved… the way that is orthodox, and catholic. Orthodox Christians don’t believe OSAS, and neither do we Catholics.

The false logic with OSAS is that you no matter what sin you commit in the coming future, you won’t lose your salvation.

Scripture and Tradition doesn’t see that way unless you pick and choose chapter and verses to fit your so called theology.

Anyways, God is love. It was the love of the Father, we were created.

the bible says God is love

the bible says love is not jealous

the bible says God is a jealous type.

He becomes jealous when mankind reject his commandments, and when the put him less than others. Since God created us, we owe him the same love, he created us for.

God also is a merciful God. We may sin, but we have to repent and ask for God’s mercy. That’s how power God’s love is.

It’s God not god. On Judgement Day everyone will take into account of what he has done. The righteous who does the will of the Father will be rewarded heaven and those who do not, will suffer eternal damnation.

Though God judge those damned, it is the damned themselves who rejected God by not remaining obedient to him. This isn’t confusing. It’s a paradox. There is a saying, “love conquers all.”

It is true, if you abid in the Truth. You reject the Truth, who is the Eternal Word. You will put yourself in a situation, you will not like.

See, I told you so.
You had the chance of the last word, and you used it with for some cynical remark.

I don’t think the Catholics on this site are going to let you getting away with publicizing Martin’s heresies, the same one’s Christ’s Church has been opposing for centuries.

These were not even ‘new’ heresies’ but produced in the time of St. Paul, who fought them off.

We will do the same. So get your shovel out, we are expecting Luther’s pile of dung.

I never said anything about OSAS. That is another topic. However, this verse debunks your myth about protestants OSAS Ro 6:15
“What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? Of course not!”

Catholics don’t understand what OSAS means.

What is IAW?

I seldom have a clue as to what you are talking about You seem to have a rather unnatural obsession with Luther.

I was raised Catholic. After leaving the Catholic church I read the Scriptures in my Catholic Bible - daily.

My theology moved from Catholicism to Scripture. I had never even heard of Luther until a couple years ago.

As a matter of fact I have a funny story about finding out who Martin Luther was.

After the movie “Luther” came out on video, I was heading to the store to pick up a loaf of bread.

My husband said, “When you get to the store, see if Luther is there.”

I asked, “Luther who?”

How was I supposed to know he was talking about a movie?

IAW=In Accordance With

OSAS teaches this. Once Save Always Saved. Isn’t it true if a murder who accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior, he is saved. He then again commit sin and feels its fine because nothing can separated him from being saved. He can justify murder for believing in OSAS.

If that isn’t OSAS. Then what is your interpretation? I have discussed Protestants with that view that someone who is saved not even any sin can break his status as being saved. A husband can cheat on his wife, and still go to heaven. Some of them say. Are their interpretation correct or incorrect? They are Evangelicals just like you.

You left out of ignorance. It sad that you won’t be receiving the Same Jesus Christ at Cross because you don’t have Holy Communion… and no valid Holy Orders.

I can’t speak to whether they were wrong or right as I did not hear what they said. It is very possible you misunderstood them. I have had many people on this forum claim I said things I did not say and sometimes I have said their interpretation of what I said is not what I meant. They say yes it is what you meant.

My interpretation is:
(and this is only my personal interpretation as I have never had anyone teach/preach the OSAS idea)

God knows what is in your heart. Therefore God knows who is sincere in their repenting. He knows who will say yeah I want to give my life to God, but then turn away when they realize there is a price that goes along with serving God.

God has a book with the names of the saved and a book with the names of the condemned that was written from the beginning, He knows who is saved and who is not before they are born because He knows their hearts.

Still He gives everyone the chance to be saved.

OSAS means God knows who is going to have eternal life.

BTW, I have never, ever met a protestant who thought it meant you have a free pass to sin. Yet, all it takes is one wacky non-catholic to say it and you Catholics assume it is a universal teaching among protestants. 🤷

Why does God love?
Because Love is not Love until it is given away. So, God is not Love, if God does not love other than Himself. In fact, God loves others (His creations) more than God loves himself.
