Why does the Catholic Church accept protestant baptisms as valid sacraments yet not protestant communion?

Well, historically, there was a protest, and the Second Diet at Speyer - it was against government rules limiting religious practices. that’s where the term protestant. I wasn’t alive in 1529.

I was not asking your choice but to whom you turn to for counsel in your choice.
Just to be clear here you would listen to the teaching of th Latin Rite Catholic Church in making your choice as to whether or not you would join the Caholic Church vs another christian congregation?

You asked about Lutheran leadership, and I responded to the (unlikely) hypothetical scenario you proposed. But to your question here, yes, the Catholic church could influence me into being in communion with the Bishop of Rome ,in the following ways:

1. Through dialogue, come to reconciliation with Lutheran leaders.
2. Come to complete reconciliation with Orthodoxy. Its off topic, but I have mentioned in other threads the reasons why.
3. Simple recognition by the pope that the Augsburg Confession is an essnetially Catholic confession of faith.
   So, yes, the reason I am here is to listen.

If I am an adult and was properly Chistened in a Presbyterian church. Will the catholic church accept me if I have decided that I want to convert to catholisim. I am from a very small family and went to a Catholic funeral today. I felt very welcome. I want to be accepted by a group that God is their Father and the fellow parishiners are kind. I have been to other religions services. I was new. “Hi, I’m Valerie” Their response “Hi your sitting in out seats.” That happened a while ago and I never went back, I feel that catholics are humble,go to confession and just do what I am so missing in my very lonely life. I am married to the same man(Lutheran) and don’t believe in divorce. I am just actively trying to find a church who will accept me. I will take classes and the RICA program and all requiements. I want to be part of a group who will love me as much as I will love them. No one is a stranger to me so please will someone point me in the right direction. I want to devote my life to this.

To answer your question, if you were baptized in the Presbyterian church, yes the Catholic Church accepts your baptism as valid. You would be received into full communion and complete your sacraments with confirmation and eucharist.

Simply contact your local Catholic parish and talk to the pastor and/or RCIA coordinator.
