Why does the Church object?

Who do you love more, your children or God? Scripture says resist evil and conquer it with good.

(Matthew 10:37-39) “Anyone who prefers father or mother to me is not worthy of me. Anyone who prefers son or daughter to me is not worthy of me. Anyone who does not take his cross and follow in my footsteps is not worthy of me. Anyone who finds his life will lose it; anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it.”

(Romans 12:18-21) “Do all you can to live at peace with everyone. Never try to get revenge; leave that, my friends, to God’s anger. As scripture says: ‘vengeance is Mine I will pay them back, the Lord promises,’ but there is more: if your enemy is hungry, you should give him food, and if he is thirsty, let him drink. Thus you heap red-hot coals on his head. Resist evil and conquer it with good.”
Yep, scripture. I believe in 100% and those are just two passages in the entire bible.

God has entrusted me with children. To live my life for God, I must give my life in faith to his precious gifts and be thankful for them always. I am living according to God’s plan, that includes taking a life to save the life of his precious gifts. My life is not my own, but God’s. How many biblical passages that say otherwise will I need to supply to prove your understanding wrong?

I’m finding it hard to believe that you would really sacrifice your childs life to save your own? That is the response that you where trying to make isn’t it? Resist evil and conquer it with good.

vengence? has anyone mention that? No! Shotgun apologetics are no way to make a point. Spreading out the subject in an attempt to find something that sticks, never comes to any good in a discussion like this.

After three hundred and some years the Holy Spirit wanted a written Word assembled so he had the Church at that time assemble the writings that he considered to be the Word of God. Now any word that contradicts the written Word is not of God.
So, why did the Holy Spirit focus on Paul and not even quote Jesus directly? Why did the Holy Spirit choose to speak indirectly on all issues? Were the people before 340 AD simply unworthy of written word? Is your theory not the bases for Islam? and later Latter Day Saints? Are you sure you’re Christian?

KathyH, how does this address the question?

If you’re going to snipe, at least use live ammunition and aim at a real target.
Exactly, I have asked seven questions of Kathy today. Any one of which she could have easily answered. Instead, she turns around and spouts off a completely unrelated question.

Kathy, I have noticed how you time after time have evaded questions that have been posited to you. Instead you make snipy accusations and put forth unrelated questions of your own expecting us (or me in this instance) to answer. SO, here is another question, which you, no doubt, will ignore: Do you think you could possibly have enough courtesy to answer the questions already put forth to you or are you going to continue to blatantly ignore us and thus further damage your own reputation as a Christian??

KathyH, are you Robert Heibel back for another round?
She certainly is sounding more and more like him, from “call no man father” to her latest statements on pacifism and (not) protecting one’s family.

KathyH, do you believe that Catholicism is a hinderance to salvation? If so, please explain why. No snipe remarks, please.

It seems to me that you are using subjective experiences to prove an objective point i.e. if I weren’t doing things right God would say something. If that is your reasoning, then how are your experiences more true than mine as a Catholic?

“After three hundred and some years the Holy Spirit wanted a written Word assembled so he had the Church at that time assemble the writings that he considered to be the Word of God. Now any word that contradicts the written Word is not of God.” Doesn’t this infer an oral tradition or some means of passing on Jesus’ teachings without written words pre-300 AD by your own admission?

Having wandered far afield from its original topic by the OPs own design apparently,
