You are displaying an astonishing degree of ignorance here. You only appear to be familiar with liturgical Protestant churches. And guess why those churches worship in ways similar to the NO? Because they had liturgical reforms that imitated those of the Catholic Church. Or more precisely, because liturgical scholars from *various *churches promoted similar reforms aimed at getting back behind the Reformation to the early Church.

Your counterparts in Protestant churches grouch about how “ritualistic” we have become and wonder why we need to be “like the Roman Catholics.”

maybe i need to explain why i say humor. it is because we do let other religions state their cause when our pope makes decisions that they do not like. the pope listens and tries his best to keep peace and explains his decisions. Why? why do we owe them explanations? they do not feel the need to explain themselves to us nor do we ask why they choose things that they do.

That’s false. Every time my own Anglican Communion makes some kind of change (women’s ordination, for instance), the Catholic Church has something to say about it, and many of us look at the effect a change will have on our relations with the Catholic Church (and other churches, but you guys are the most important for a number of reasons) as a major factor in whether we support or oppose the proposed change.

You shouldn’t base arguments on things you don’t know about.

Might I add that we Catholics are either the largest or second largest religious group in the world? Depending on which stats you read.

1.1 billion? Hardly something to sneeze at. Hardly a minority.

Whtya Percentage of the world population (knownto be important aat that time ) in 1600 did the church hvave sway over. How great a drop since then. My curch(unfortunately i cant remember its name) has had a 7000 per cent growth just in the last tqo months. Look out we are on your tail.

there is nothing i want to do more, than be able to sit in my pew and fully trusts all the decisions our pope and future popes are going to make. i envy those who can.

Forgive me, but isn’t this part of being Catholic? I guess I don’t see how you can disagree with the Church and present yourself for communion since the common theme on these boards are that you need to accept everything that the Church teaches or you are not truly Catholic. Wouldn’t this include Vatican 2?

Also, don’t Catholics believe that the gates of hell will not prevail? I thought that was the big proof that Peter was the first pope, that the Catholic Church is the one true church, and its been around for 2000 years, etc.

They are not only not catholic but their non religin allows them to do some things with impunity *(masturbation, abortion, taking th ansme of ther Lord in vain etc) . You can have all the reason, intelligence, common sense and thoughtfulness in the world. If you can’t express yourself so little of it shows that you may as well not bother. In your case your expression is so bad that many people wouldn’t even bother to read your post let alone discover whatever ‘reason, intelligence, common sense and throughtfulness’ might be underlying it.

You’re saying that your church has had SEVENTY TIMES the number of people join in the last two months as in the two months before? And conveniently you can’t provide any evidence of this - conveniently you don’t even remember your church’s name.

no i do not have to trust every word that spews from a popes mouth. catholics have had naughty popes in the past, im sure you have studied some church history. only when he speaks with infallibility or dogma do i have to fully trust. also Jesus Himself warns us to be careful of wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing.
i do like a lot of the things that pope benedict xvi is doing so far and i am hoping to become more trustful of him.
