Why doesn't Michael Voris appear on EWTN?

Not really. It is just another re-hash of slamming on the Church. Renew America is about as tilted a blog as one can find.
It’s about as tilted to the right as our universities and main media outlets are tilted to the left.

Really? I didn’t know that any univesity or main media outlet has commented on Michael Voris appearing on EWTN. What was said?

Your comment was about “RenewAmerica”, a blog site with dozens of contributors, Matt Abbott being one of the few there that ever mention Voris or EWTN. You claimed the “RenewAmerica” site was tilted (presumably to the far right). My response was that universities and main media outlets are just as tilted (presumably to the left).

Oh. Then I do not see the relevance to this topic. My comment about that site was only because they actually commented on Michael Voris. The author seemed very disparaging of the Catholic Church, even though he edited the name out. I do not believe in confusing political opinions and ideologies with theology and Church authority.

Why isn’t Voris on EWTN? Because he is Michael Voris.
I love EWTN but they’re not going to have Michael Voris “on air”. Since Mother Angelica (who famously told the Bishops she would burn EWTN to the ground before letting it fall into their hands) became incapacitated there has been no EWTN presence who would, in essence, call a spade a spade.

EWTN is not going to bring a deliberately incendiary person like Voris on the air again, those days are over. It’s politely, effectively, and correctly reflective of the faith properly practiced. But the days of “take no prisoners, get it or get gone” ended with Mother’s stroke, sadly.

Voris is not, ever, going to accept the modern mediocrity of the American Church, which Mother never did either, but EWTN has evolved to “work around it” - with good effect.

It is sad we are seeing The American Catholic Church trying to break from The Church, It was a great move by The Holy Father to bring the Mass back to the way it was in the late 60’s early 70’s , There has been talk He did this to reign in liberal Bishops, Some people say M.Voris is too conservitive, I think not, I remember The Mass in latin as a child and what M. Voris says is the way it used to be , we have just strayed too far to the left. it is too bad M. Voris does not have a show on EWTN, they need a voice of reason. Although it will not happen because a few of the people who already have shows on EWTN do not like him and throw him under the bus every chance they get.

What is the American Catholic Church? Are they a schismatic group?
we will be if things do not change, I can forsee 2 churches Latin Rite and American , Latin Rite will stay faithful to Rome while the American will be faithful to Politics!

In that case, I will have to disagree with you and side with the Catholic Church. If divisive attacks againt the Church and the Bishops are the fruit of Michael Voris and his supporters, it is no wonder why a good Catholic organization like EWTN will not have him on.

I think you misunderstand M. Voris he seems true to Rome!

I’d say closer to heretical. You’ll be able to see it (“it” does not specifically identify itself, it prefers to introduce and influence, cf. “Sing a New Church Into Being”) in action on Holy Thursday if, in the parish you attend, the washing of the feet involves more than the priest (or bishop) and 12 MEN.

If the rite involves the whole attendance at the mass you’ve got an American Catholic situation on your hands.

Heresy is post baptismal denial of truth which must be believed, none of which has to do with either music or liturgical discipline.

I see that all this criticism is directed against legitimate authority of the Roman Catholic Church in America, not some splinter group. Perhaps instead of the liturgical specks that we see in the shepherds we should be more concerned with the beams of slander against the Bride of Christ. The sheep do not authority to make such outlandish accusations.

Perhaps this is the problem. Catholic ministries are bound to be obedient to the local bishop. Just as we can’t each hold to our own interpretation of Scripture, we can not hold to our own interpretation of Church disciplines, which is even of lesser weight. If in an attempt to obey Rome as we see it, we defy our bishop as we know it, then we invite division in the Body of Christ.

when you have the local Bishop instute his own rules against Romes wishes you need a watchdog to bark.

Sometimes I joke about being hard-lined, but it’s one thing to joke and another to actually be it. At first Voris reminded me of a Catholic Sean Hannity, until I realized Voris goes way past condemning heterodox Catholics, Voris appears very ready and willing to condemn orthodox liberal Catholics and even orthodox conservative Catholics when he gets the inclination.

You are right to condemn the divisiveness. We are called to seek truth and justice, but we are also called to love our brother and to be peacemakers.

I believe, if you analyze the situation, you will find that the denial of the extant Catholic Church, the supreme pontiff of same being the Bishop of Rome, and it being one, holy catholic and apostolic, constitutes a post baptismal denial of a revealed truth that must be believed by all the faithful.

Singing a new church into being, therefore, denies that truth. Wouldn’t you agree?

No. It is a stupid song, in my opinion, but bad poetry does not heresy make.

The song does not deny that the Catholic Church exists.

Mr. Voris has weighed in on the issue.
