Why don't the Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormons knock on my door?

I have lived in my current residence for quite a while now, and my door has been knocked on once by Jehovah’s Witnesses, and not at all by Mormons.

Why do you think this is?

Why not order a free Bible from the Mormons or a visit from the JW’s you can do this off their website.

They will eventually not come to your house if you are informed about Christianity and actually have some intelligent answers that make them think.

They don’t come to my house anymore 😦 I see them in the neighborhood but they skip my house!

I don’t know if it’s my NRA sticker on the front door or my St. Francis statue on the porch. Or it could be because they’re scared of me 😉

I was going to suggest that perhaps he had some stickers or something that showed he was a faith filled Catholic. I took the sticker that came on my copy of the Therese movie and stuck it on a window on my door, it said “approved by the Vatican” haven’t had either party knock on my door since:thumbsup:

I’ve seen Mormons come to my house about 4 or 5 times, I just like debating with them. Nice folk, unfortunately their church is stuffed.

I’ve only met 1 Jehovah’s witness at my door, and about 3 handing out stuff on street corners, why do the missionaries always seem to be older men? And why do they always give you Watchtowers from the 1980s? Don’t they have any new ones anymore
 
me too, the fact that, since I’ve started learning my apologetic skills. I’ve never talk about faith to people from other religions. May be God is still preparing me to be better. I only met with lukewarm Catholics or those that’s not know what the Catholic teaching is. So I think I’m blessed that I can practise it to open-minded people. I just pity my mum that had a conversation with a JW’s pastor and since then, she can’t stop thinking why they don’t pray for the dead. LoL.

I’ve only spoken to one JW who came to my cousins house while I babysat them. When I told them I already believe in Jesus, they gave me a pamphlet and then left.
 
A few Jehova witnesses came to my door and did so for some consecutive weeks. I had read up on them since their first visit and thought i could hold my own well against them but 😦 i couldn’t It was since their first visit, that I started to take interest in Apologetics. The last time I saw them, my father told me to tell them to leave and never come back. I realized that I didn’t really know how to defend my faith. I did not intend on telling them to leave as my father did, but thinking back on it, I think it was God working through my life. It was God’s way of telling me that I was not yet ready to defend the catholic faith. So I will study as much as i can until the day I can hold my own against other religions. As for Mormon’s, they have never come to my house.
 
Maybe you haven’t had anyone in your immediate familiy pass away lately. Jehovah’s Witnesses scan the obituaries and visit homes of those who have just suffered the loss of a loved one. Of course they never mention this to those they visit, it’s just a way of trying to influence someone when they are most vunerable.

I’ve seen it time and time again, just like clockwork.
 
I’ve never had a JW or a Mormon knock on my door. I did have a protestant knock on my door and hand out flyers to join one of their church activities long ago.

I had a JW friend in high school. We often talked about our religions but we never tried to convert each other. She never gave me any literature or anything like that.

I’ve ever known any mormons.

I would be willing to bet since I’ve moved into my new neighborhood that it’s only a matter of time before I get a JW or mormon knock on my door. For some reason this neighborhood attracts every door-to-door business ya can think of. It’s toned down in the winter, but when the weather was nice I had someone knocking on my door at least once a day trying to get me to buy, donate, take their stupid survey…:mad: I really need to get a NO SOLICITING sign, but I really don’t want to junk up my screen door. :mad: :mad:
 
Not one jw has come to my door since I spent 45 minutes explaining John: 6 to two of them about a year or so ago.
Haven’t seen any mormons either since we got into the “other sheep” stuff one morning.
It’s so much easier for them all if they can bambozzle you with their bs. If you know anything at all about your own faith and defend it, they tend to never come back.

I’ve lived at my residence for about 8 months now. We’ve had 6 mormons and 2 JW’s knock on our door. We have invited them in and have even scheduled appointment times at my home. They keep coming back. We spend hours talking. They definetly know we are catholic. I love it. It has inspired me to study more my own faith. I dont get out much. Stay at home mom of eight and babysit 2 other children, so i feel this has been a great gift from God. I feel like im helping in some small why to educate others about our beautiful Catholic faith.
 
Yeah I feel slighted too. No missionaries from any religion have ever knocked on my door…I guess no one wants to save my idolotrous, Roman popish soul :crying:
 
I wish a JW would come round to my house but only so I could argue with him/her about blood transfusions.
 
When my daughter used sidewalk chalk to draw a big star in a circle on the porch, and the cat dropped a half-eaten dead rat in the middle of the star :eek: , no one came to my door for quite a while. Not even the mailman.
