I just don’t understand how the Jewish people can NOT believe in Jesus Christ. Why don’t they? After all the persecution and all the times he has saved them. They are his chosen people, yet they deny his son. Can anyone help enlighten me?

Pope Benedict says that Rabbi Neusner reports back to all the leading Rabbis and Jewish scholars after his talk with Jesus…they ask Rabbi Neusner what did Jesus change in the Torah?..nothing!..what did he take away?..nothing!..but Rabbi Neusner then says that ** he added one thing…himself **(Jesus as the Way…The Truth and The Life)…at which point Rabbi Neusner ended his dialogue with Jesus…**the Rabbi and Jews could not accept Jesus because he added himself to the Torah…as the Torah. ** That is simply what the Jews cannot accept…and why the reject Jesus as the Messiah… his authority…not as one sent by God…but as God himself…equal in authority from and with the Father.

Neusner: A Rabbi Talks with Jesus featured in Jesus of Nazareth review
History’s Greatest Liar
By Lisa Fabrizio
The American Spectator, June 13, 2007
With this new Moses comes a new Torah; the essence of which is contained in the Beatitudes. And in delivering them in the Sermon on the Mount, he alarms the people because he was “teaching them as one having authority, and not as their Scribes and Pharisees” (Mt 7:29). In other words, he is not only proclaiming the law but claiming equality with the Lawgiver. At this point,** Benedict begins a fascinating discourse; almost a dialogue with the Jewish scholar Jacob Neusner, author of A Rabbi Talks with Jesus.**
Neusner’s book is itself a dialogue where he is present at the Sermon on the Mount and then follows Jesus to Jerusalem where he speaks with him about what he feels are exhortations to ignore two or three of God’s commandments concerning the Sabbath and familial relationships, both of which are at the heart of the Jewish social order. The pope’s response – which fills 25 pages – is a must-read for Jews and Christians alike and makes one ardently wish to be a fly on the wall at a mythical sit-down between Benedict and Neusner.
Pope Benedict: What did Jesus actually bring, if not world peace, universal prosperity and a better world? What has he brought? The answer is very simple: God.** He has brought God**. Now we know his face, now we can call upon him. Now we know the path that we human beings have to take in this world. Jesus has brought God and with God the truth about our origin and destiny: faith, hope, and love.

Unbelieving Jews had a role to fulfill in the passion and death of Jesus, so that Scripture can be fulfilled.

And, the Jews that believed in Jesus came to be called Christians. 🙂

Titus in AD 70 was no mere coincidence.

Jesus sealed their fate point blank when He spoke “If they will do this when the wood is green, what will they do when it is dry?”

Familial tradition is a big reason i.e. the unwillingness to even consider Jesus as the Savior of the world out of respect to their parents and their beliefs passed on…

Key in on the Internet “Twenty-Six Reasons Why Jews Don’t Believe in Jesus,” a book written by Asher Norman. It should give you some information on this topic.

An interesting response. Which leads into this rhetorical question. When will the Jewish nation realize that the anti-christ is not the real Messiah? Answer: When he proclaims himself as god in the holy place.

God’s peace

There have been numerous threads about this. This one is pretty comprehensive:

PS We believe that G-d has saved us- still does and always will.

Yes, I can, or rather, the Bible has the answer to your question. ALL ISRAEL WILL BE SAVED.

I am not Jewish, my wife and i attend a Messianic Jewish congregation on Saturday’s, and we celebrate their Festive Holidays, and they have accepted Jesus (Yeshua) as their Lord and saviour, Their true Messiah. The service is in Hebrew, and repeated in English.

Read Romans Chapter 11.

I’ll quote just a part of it:

25 For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation—that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; 26 and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,

“The Deliverer will come from Zion,
He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.”
27 “This is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”

28 From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers; 29 for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 30 For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience,

The Bible states with regard to salvation that the 1st (The Jews) will be last to be saved, and those who were last in regard to a relationship with God (The Gentiles) have been the 1st to be saved through the New Covenant (i.e. New Contract) of Jesus Christ, through the blood of the Perfect Paschal Lamb of God, whom takes away the sins to all who accept this free gift from God.

We are living in the times that the Jews are coming into the fold of their Messiah, Jesus.
The times of the gentiles entering the Kingdom of God is coming to a close. Western Europe, once heavily populated with Christians are now post Christian. England is down to 10% Christian. Scandanavia population is about 5% Christian; Spain, France, Italy, Germany are post Christian, as is the United States. Secular Humanism dominates the Western Nations, and these nations are in Decline. Southern Africa is the only place on this Earth that Christianity is growing, they are sending Missionaries to the United States and other countries.

On the other hand, Islam is rapidly growing. Western Europeans are having 1.21 Babies per married couple. Muslims have been immigrating into Europe, they are having very large families. In a fews years they will not need to conquer Western Europe, they will just vote themselves into power in government elections. Muslims are also moving into the United States in large numbers, particularly in swing states in U.S. political elections.

God is opening the eyes of His people the Jews. Their Diaspora ended in 1947. Prophecies, long latent, are being fulfilled in our time. Many Jews have been migrating to Israel from many countries around the world. A black tribe from Southern Africa emigrated to Israel with help from the Israelis, blood tests showed they have 57% Cohen Blood (Levites, (the Priests), the highest in the world, and they are practicing Jews.

If you don’t mind I’ve got a couple of questions

You celebate Jewish holidays if I understand this correctly, yet you mention the lamb of G-d. Why don’t you celbrate the Christian holidays instead? Do you not celebrate Easter? Why not?

You aren’t a Jew. Why do you celebrate Pessach? Don’t you know that the Torah says that you’re not supposed to celebrate it if you aren’t circumcised - meaning if you’re not in the covenant with the Almighty?

Just being curious 🙂

I think this thread might be a good perusal, both for Jewish objections and Christian responses to said objections.

I believe it says in scripture that Jesus put a ‘blind eye’ on them and they won’t know he’s truly the Messiah until he returns. Thankfully several understood it and were his very first followers.

CAF Forum member chosen people has posted responses to this question:
Well in the past 3500 years the Jews are not only guilty of rejecting Jesus but also Mithras and Osiris and Tammuz and Adonis and Balder and Attis and Dionysus and Hercules and Perseus and Theseus (to name just a few). All worshiped and believed to be gods, all had virgin mothers and all had divine fathers. They all died in the service of mankind and they all were resurrected. In fact, the only thing the Jews haven’t rejected is their eternal covenant between the Jewish people and God, and I for one certainly agree that the Jews must and should bear full consequences for that decision. . . .

Devarim - Deuteronomy - Chapter 13

א אֵת כָּל-הַדָּבָר, אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּה אֶתְכֶם–אֹתוֹ תִשְׁמְרוּ, לַעֲשׂוֹת: לֹא-תֹסֵף עָלָיו, וְלֹא תִגְרַע מִמֶּנּוּ. {פ}

  1. Everything I command you that you shall be careful to do it. You shall neither add to it, nor subtract from it.
  2. If there will arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of a dream, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,
  3. and the sign or the wonder of which he spoke to you happens, [and he] says, “Let us go after other gods which you have not known, and let us worship them,”
  4. you shall not heed the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of a dream; for the Lord, your God, is testing you, to know whether you really love the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul.
  5. You shall follow the Lord, your God, fear Him, keep His commandments, heed His voice, worship Him, and cleave to Him.
The Jesus figure is presented in the Christian scriptures as a prophet who performed signs, wonders and miracles. The concept of the son of God and the trinity are gods that the Jewish people did not know.

God tests the Jews to keep the eternal covenant between Him and the Jewish people. From a Jewish perspective, for a Jew to “believe” in the Jesus figure is a failure of God’s test. While Judaism teaches that it is easier for the Gentile than for the Jew to get into the World to Come as the Gentile has only to uphold the seven Noahide commandments, the penalty of failing God’s test for a Jew is to be separated forever from God in the World to Come.
It’s actually more complicated than many Christians realize.

Peace and blessings,
Anna

I have a question please that might fit this topic so that I won’t have to start a new thread…

A couple of weeks ago, at bible study group that meets two times a month, we discussed something to which I replied: “When the temple will get rebuilt…” And everyone, at the same time as if they were speaking with one mouth, exclaimed: “The Temple won’t be rebuilt!” All of them looked at me so shocked that I didn’t want to ask them anymore questions about it. Since that time though I wonder why Catholics think that the Temple won’t be rebuilt? :confused:

Maybe I should add that I grew up gentile basically, and tought myself everything I know today…

What you are referring to is a teaching of Dispensationalis theology. A teaching Catholics and Reformed Protestants reject.

Off the top of my head I can think of three main reasons why Jews have a problem with Jesus being the Messiah and accepting Christianity.

The first two have to do with Jewish theology. The most essential summary of Jewish theology is Maimonides’ thirteen principles of faith, which is basically the Jewish creed. In the form of a famous hymn, it goes like this:
Exalted be the Living God and praised, He exists - unbounded by time is His existence;
He is One - and there is no unity like His Oneness - Inscrutable and infinite is His Oneness;
He has no semblance of a body nor is He corporeal - nor has His holiness any comparison;
He preceded every being that was created - the First, and nothing precedes His precedence;
Behold! He is Master of the universe - Every creature demonstrates His greatness and His sovereignty;
He granted His flow of prophecy - to His treasured, splendid people;
In Israel, none like Moses arose again - a prophet who perceived His vision clearly;
God gave His people a Torah of truth - by means of His prophet, the most trusted of His household;
God will never amend nor exchange His law - for any other one, for all eternity;
He scrutinizes and knows our hiddenmost secrets - He perceives a matter’s outcome at its inception;
He recompenses man with kindness according to his deed - He places evil on the wicked according to his wickedness;
By the End of Days He will send our Messiah - to redeem those longing for His final salvation;
God will revive the dead in His abundant kindness - Blessed forever is His praised Name
The idea of Jesus being divine contradicts the Jewish teaching of God being an absolute unity and being incorporeal (principles 2 and 3) and the idea of a new covenant contradicts their belief that the Torah will not be changed (principle 9)

The last reason why Jews don’t accept Jesus as the Messiah is that Judaism teaches that when the Messiah comes, he will usher in an era of world peace and prosperity. As this hasn’t happened yet, the Jews say that the Messiah can’t have yet arrived.

oh okay. Thanks 🙂
Thank you. Evangelicials just love anything Israel. Especially that false lie about a temple being rebuilt that somehow ushers in the Second Coming. Temple was rebuilt on the 3rd day when Jesus came forth from the tomb. CASE CLOSED!
