The Orthodox faith also professes the real presence. Protestantism didn’t carry enough historical validity for me (contradictions with ECFs, God leaving His people without truth until Luther/Calvin and the gang showed up, and lack of unity among Protestants).
All Christians have unity in that Jesus Christ is our Savior.

God Bless!

Do you recall that Jesus told us that He would not leave us as orphans? We were not left alone or abandoned by God–the Holy Spirit was with us and is so today.

God Bless!

Hardly, with all the knowledge in libraries and the Internet it is highly unlikely your observation holds any weight. Your statements makes it easier for people like you to comprehend why someone would leave the church. Calling us all intellectually inept, having too much intellect, or being unable to comprehend is just a tactic. A very lame one.
IMHO, it seems that, since you seem antagonistic towards people who have shown you no antagonist, and because of your seeming derisive attitude towards the Church for some reason, that you have some personal axe to grind.

So basically, you seem to be confirming my suspicions, as well as those of others, IMHO.

Do you except Him as your Savior?
I learned about God through His words. Without being raised as a Catholic Christian, I probably would have never found the Baha’i Faith. He has brought me closer to God. In that sense, yes He is my Savior. I don’t believe in salvation the same way as I assume you do. Salvation isn’t a one-time thing, nor is it something that ends at death.

The Baha’i writings say:

Know thou of a truth that the soul, after its separation from the body, will continue to progress until it attaineth the presence of God, in a state and condition which neither the revolution of ages and centuries, nor the changes and chances of this world, can alter. It will endure as long as the Kingdom of God, His sovereignty, His dominion and power will endure. It will manifest the signs of God and His attributes, and will reveal His loving kindness and bounty.
(Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 155)

Let me take these one at a time.

Hogwash. Most websites that are not run by Catholics but are about Catholicism are the internet equivalent of Chick Tracks (see my #1 in previous posts). Furthermore, the overwhelming majority of non-Catholics are not spending their time on authentic Catholic websites unless it is to go on them to begin arguments.

As far as libraries are concerned, I am not exactly seeing Protestants/Bhuddists/Atheists getting trampled on their way to the “Religion” section for a copy of the Catechism.

*Your statements makes it easier for people like you to comprehend why someone would leave the church. *

Like me? Who are people like me? If anything, you have revealed far more personality traits to extract motives from than I have in my two very short posts.

Calling us all intellectually inept, having too much intellect, or being unable to comprehend is just a tactic. A very lame one.

Please use your library or internet resources to look up “straw man” and then perhaps we can disuss what is “lame.”
Did you go to the CC because if its people or because of God

In addition to not being able to follow the simple language I used for you, I see you do not know the basics of the eucharist either. You once again make my point that a large chunk of former Catholics are those that never understood its doctrines. Two points in your post:

You stated: However, only, properly ordained Catholic priests, are the only people on earth who happen to possess the power to perform this amazing feat, courtesy of the creator of the universe.

False. The Catholic Church recognizes the Orthodox eucharist as valid as well.

You stated: * I don’t see people in ecstatic anticipation of being able to eat the muscle fibers of God, of the omnipotent, omniscient and benevolent creator…*

We do not eat the “muscle fibers”, toes, pectorals, fingers, etc. Please become knowledgable about a topic before telling Catholics what they believe or do.

**I don’t like the Church because She makes me see myself clearly. She shines a beautiful light on my darkness.
**
I want to take the easy path, I am so lazy,so weak.

Jesus calls me to fulfill my destiny, to be so much more than I would ever be on my own!

I want to take care of myself, yet Jesus calls me to care for others!

I want to be liked, to be popular, to be cool, yet Jesus calls me to be honest, to be truthful, to be selfless like Him!

"“If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (Lk 9:23).

Jesus calls me to “deny” myself, yet I can not!

Pray for me!!

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus!

  1. Principle should reign over results in ethical matters.
(2) is just a flaw in logic. Obviously things are good and bad based on their results, even if you believe the result is to become closer to God. Think about it: would killing still be wrong if it weren’t sin–if it didn’t separate you from God? Christians say all the time that something is wrong because it harms your relationship with God, which is a result.

(1) is far more grave, in my opinion.
I suspect you mean here that Catholic moral theology is not properly responsive to real human good. I can understand that if you feel this way, that this would be objectionable, if not somewhat repugnant. You are right to say that we are not what you would likely call proportionalists (a type of consequentialism).

Scare tactics. Now, even I’M smart enough not to fall for that tired old line. 😉

Can you share with us the exalted “intellectual thought” behind, “Sheep being led to the slaughter because of a misguided church.”, which, BTW, is not a complete thought.
No answer?

So, I’m ignorant of this Bahama lulah stuff, I went and googled it. From what I read, someone decided that they would just believe in all of it right? Wow, I’ve honestly never heard of such.

The fact that it takes place daily is exactly why the type of excitement changes from the early overwhelmingness to the sweet quiet awe that people who knowingly experience the supernatural regularly grow into.
Sweet quiet awe that your eating the flesh of the creator of the universe. I tend not to believe that a majority of Catholics, actually believe in the real presence.

It’s easy to say, ’ yep, I believe it.’ The true test, is do you look your non-Catholic friends, co-workers and neighbours in the eye, and honestly tell them.

’ I know that the bread is turned into the flesh, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ and I eat Jesus’s real raw flesh, every Sunday at 10:45 am.’

I suspect, that not many educated Catholics would admit to that.

Not all Christian Churches teach the real presence in the Eucharist. You did not leave the Christian faith over this issue, did you?

!
Of course not! I am well aware of the differences, between protestantism and catholicism.

Sweet quiet awe that your eating the flesh of the creator of the universe.

What did you do this weekend Suzy?

Oh, I went shopping on Saturday, took the kids to a baseball game and then on Sunday, I ate a piece of the raw flesh of the son, of the creator of the universe, then a quiet dinner and off to bed early.

Yep.

You sure don’t hear that very often, now do you?
When you lie about what the Church believes, you lose all credibility. (I’m giving you credit for knowing what Catholic belief is on this subject. If I’m mistaken, you might be able to salvage a tiny bit of credibility after your last, preposterous post.)

I actually edited that post, but you were too quick on the draw. I figured that my post was a little over the top. My new post, expresses even better what I wanted to get across, minus the satire.

Anyway, please point out, where the lie is. Your going to have to look hard, because there isn’t one.

From an outsider, it makes a lot more sense, than every religious group claiming a total monopoly on religious truth and of worshiping the correct God.

You are saying that the Church teaches that we eat the “raw flesh”.

You will have to either admit that you lied or admit that you are mistaken.
