Why GOD dosn't put a sign in the sky for Him!

Why GOD doesn’t put a sign in the sky showing His true path!, for example, instead of the moon each night we see, he would put starts in a cross order or simply the name of the religion understood by any human on earth.

I think that will end all the disputes between all religions on earth, and it will be a compelling reason to judge people on the judgment day.

Thoughts?
 
God did put a sign in the sky for him. It led the three Magi to Bethlehem. 👍

Excellent observation 👍, that indicates how effective it was, so why He doesn’t put a permanent one for all generations on this earth to led them to the right religion?

There are 2 different responses I have to this query…
A) There are permanent signs in the sky that point to God…The evidence of the Big Bang [which happened pretty close to where we are] points to a Creator.

B) Any physical message would be interpreted as physical…eg…when scientists were faced with the Big Bang Theory…and they previously thought to universe was static and eternal…but now are looking for ways to fit alien insemination and multi-verses birthing from other dimensions…etc. “If they won’t believe Moses and the Prophets…neither will they believe even if one were to rise from the dead.”
 
Faith is wonderfull, it does not need proof. And as you can read from other answers, God has put more then one sign in the sky. A whole universe, all miracles, where ever you look you see Gods proof and sign. What more do we need? And yes, I have seen a sign in the sky a long time ago and let me tell you brothers and sisters in Christ, it was so beautiful and took away all doubts I may had at that time. And not so long ago walking my dog I did look up, we where at the same spot then I was thirty odd years ago, and there it was again.
 
I second what has already been said and only add that such a sign (if it were indeed such as to make belief in Christ impossible to deny) would destroy the virtue of Faith. Remember Matt 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” All who seek the Truth will find it, but those who do not seek will not find. This gives us three groups of people. 1) Those who seek and have found (reasonable b/c they seek - happy b/c they have found the Truth) 2) Those who seek but have yet to find (reasonable b/c they seek - not yet happy, but assured of happiness b/c they will find) 3) Those who neither seek nor find (unreasonable b/c they do not seek - unhappy b/c they do not find the Truth) 4) Those who do not seek, but still find (no one is in this class). A massive undeniable sign for Christ in the sky would upset this balance, making even those who do not seek find (destroying the virtue of faith). God Bless and keep seeking! 👍

Doesn’t St. Paul fall under #4?

And I would add a number 5) Those who don’t seek because they don’t know that there’s anything to be seeking for, and yet are happy because believe it or not, there are happy non-Christians.

and number 6) Those who sought and found Christianity lacking.

and number 7) Those who sought and found Christianity, but then later discovered problems inherent within the religion and were forced to deconvert out of honesty.

Because those who sincerely want to find Him, do find Him and those who do not but rather willfully ignore Him, would continue to do so regardless off the big sign in the sky.

a) St. Paul was seeking the Truth and all who seek the Truth will find Him. Thus he falls under class 1 not 4 . Seekers are all those searching for the truth not only those who from the start are searching explicitly for Christ.

b) Happy here refers not to worldly happiness which, by definition is fleeting, but to eternal happiness (blessedness).

c) as Christianity is not lacking (at least in its fullness, ie Catholicism) those who found Christianity and left are either still searching and will eventually find (group 2) or have stopped searching and are in group 3.
 
There are signs of God everywhere! In the beauty of creation, in the nobility of our hearts, in the love we feel, in the truth we seek…

We look in the sky and it is wonderful; we look in the smallest cell and it is as perfectly designed as the entire universe…

Once a person starts seeing, there are signs of God all around us!

Huh? The Big Bang has no spatial origin, it happened everywhere; (effectively) everything is moving away from everything else at the same increasing rate!

To the OP: you can find many crosses in the night sky, if you require only 4 stars. See the Southern Cross, for example. The question is really: will be people choose to believe such an image?

Since God gives us free will, I would think that any sign He gives would not be believed by all.

But you see, He did better than that. He spoke to Abraham and Moses directly, to the Prophets through dreams, he sent his own Son, he spoke directly to the people three times in the New Testament. I guess the only other thing he could do is stand beside us with a whip and beat some sense into us - but that would destroy the love and obedience he wants freely offered. Obedience through the Sword or the Whip is not the faith of sons and daughters, it is the groveling of slaves. Linus2nd

👍 I agree whole heartedly with your post.

Sometimes, we manipulate and try to control without even realizing it. We expect God to give us signs when we expect them. There is a good book called God Winks that I recommend.

For example, yesterday driving home I was deep in prayer praising God for all the beauty around me in the glorious weather and beauty of the day and praising and adoring Him in His Presence -acknowledging that He does reveal things to me in nature as a sign that He is with me - They are like little gifts He sends to me at moments in my life - a way for Him to say I Love You, I Am Always With You, You Are Special. So I was like, Ok God give me a sign of your love for me and looking up to the sky expecting to see a grey egret - There of course was no grey egret - And I was a little disappointed. I have always had this control problem which God has shown me that I am not in control He is.

This morning, when I woke up, opened up the shade, looked up and there in the sky, flying towards me over my head was a… grey egret. He sends these gifts when He wants not when we expect them.

Thank you God for always sending me little winks, not when I expect them.
 
Christians always speak of Christ as the light of the world. It was indeed a light in the sky that drew three Magi to the crib in Bethlehem. But not all men want to live in the light. Some want to live in the darkness. That is no doubt part of our free will. God has brought the light to us, but we are free to turn it off, and many have. As John said, the light shone in the darkness, but the darkness did not grasp it. God will not force people to believe in Him by putting out a neon sign in the sky that they cannot deny.

I agree with you all BUT when you have a 1400 years faith which tells you you would go to hell if you just acknowledge that JESUS is SON OF GOD, then you need miracles for those followers to revoke that.

You have very valid and logical points. BUT again there is a 1400 violent religion with over 2 billion believers which says otherwise… 😦
