Why GOD dosn't put a sign in the sky for Him!

That same question can be applied to the 1.6 billion Muslims and the 1.6 billion Hinduism/Buddhism.
Absolutely! So long as we remain what can only be described as an unsustainable species, not to mention the most destructive in all of history, any claims of morality or being spiritual and in the image and likeness of a creator God is just wishful thinking. Aspirations that remain to be realized. And there can only be one reason such aspirations have not been realized, which is that our understanding of God must be in error or else there is no God and no way of the slippery slope to ‘civilizations’ own self made hell!

Why GOD doesn’t put a sign in the sky showing His true path!, for example, instead of the moon each night we see, he would put starts in a cross order or simply the name of the religion understood by any human on earth.

I think that will end all the disputes between all religions on earth, and it will be a compelling reason to judge people on the judgment day.

Thoughts?
You know I was talking to my colleagues at work and I mentioned that I grew up atheist. My colleagues, engineers and scientists looked at me and mentioned that they were puzzled about how anyone can be an atheist. After all the signs are all around us that there is a God.

I guest it depends on your perspective. To me it was my study of Physics in college and grad school that led me from unbelief to belief. I am currently reading up on cellular biology and my readings just gave me a lot more signs to contemplate.

So in conclusion, the signs are already all around us. You just have to observe.

🙂 actually I meant a sign for the right religion which will lead you to GOD, which in turn all religions acknowledge Him…

Ah, I see. I think God Himself wants people to use their God-given brains to discern the right path to Him, instead of a blatant in your face sign. I think even with the blatant in your face sign, people will still get confused.

There has already been a visible sign from God about how we are to live our lives and what religion we are to follow.

the most amazing sign you can imagine

Jesus Christ came among us.

He healed the sick,

He even raised the dead back to life!

And he came back from the dead!

And if those aren’t signs, I don’t know what is.

It’s that simple.

Don’t let familiarity blind us to how amazing the incarnation of God is!

This.

That reminds me when I pray the Rosary today, which is the Joyful mysteries, I will meditate on the incarnation of God Himself and how He has so closely identified with us that He came down not in the image of an angel but in the image of a human.

:rotfl:

But still that will reduce the number of deceived people who are following false religions.

What about the 1.6 billion Muslims who are forbidden from reading the Rosary…

1,900+ years ago and with scant historical evidence - and scant is being generous.

I see these possibilities:
  1. God chooses not to provide further evidence, because he wants a certain amount of disbelief. [Why?]
  2. Everyone that disbelieves is lying about it - they are secretly a believer like the rest of us. [Most of the world is lying? Why?]
Anyone see any other possibilities?

Matthew 16:1-4

And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test him they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. He answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather; for the sky is red.’ And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So he left them and departed.

The sign is implicit in Jesus Christ+

Why do some people say there is little or no evidence for Jesus?

Look around you, Christianity is pretty visible!

Look at all 4 gospels, the new testament, not to mention the unauthorized writings about Jesus from the time and since.

Look at the effect on everyone at the time, individuals and 4000 and 5000 crowds.

Look at the effect on history.

Look at the effect on people’s hearts, all the poor, sick and injured who have been helped in his name.

If you call that no evidence, maybe its time to look again.

I speak specifically of the lack of historical evidence, I’m not sure about all the other lines of evidence you’re trying to introduce.

  1. God chooses not to provide further evidence, because he wants a certain amount of disbelief. [Why?]
Well, as far as salvation goes, I am confident that God is just, which means that although he despises sin, he is the most reasonable and informed judge. I trust that the plurality of religions in the world does not cause God to damn anyone who is not meant to be damned.

I’m not claiming that everyone is a product of their social circumstances and is thus divorced from responsibility for seeking the truth. But in the same way that God weighs the circumstances of those who were never introduced to Christianity at all (ie. unbaptized infants, isolated tribes), I think God is conscious of the circumstances of those who have only been introduced to it in a false way.
  1. Everyone that disbelieves is lying about it - they are secretly a believer like the rest of us. [Most of the world is lying? Why?]
Having been a disbeliever for many years, I can tell you that this is false.

Ah, but should the standards of “some men” make it so that many (who would convert if they knew that Christianity was true) are damned? In order for your complaint to be valid, no one would convert if someone were to rise from the dead and tell them that Christianity was true.
Ah, but the shame and sorrow and upon those men who would see the sign clearly visible to all and not heed it. Grace gave me small but clear signs leading to conversion. The fact that they were only visible to me, just made it clearer that God was addressing me in all my wretchedness.

We want those signs to be visible to everyone, so we do not end with 1.6 billion Muslim and 1.6 billion Hinduism/Buddhism.

I would suggest our ‘brains’ are the problem, rooted within a primeval evolutionary past. Reason is the most perfect emanation of ‘self’ and as ‘God is Love’ and love is in conflict with self, it is thus highly unlikely that reason can know or discover God. The only part of ‘reason’ that might contribute to a search to find God is how prepared we are to accept correction and learn. For being prepared to be corrected and learn insight not of our own intellectual making would be selfless and demand faith. Unfortunately such a ‘path’ is not on offer by any existing tradition. It remains to be revealed!

A suspect HE will have the last laugh on us all. Scripture might even be no more than a ‘trap’ to expose at judgement, just how far reasoned ignorance and carry the step of man. The corruption of mind, body and spirit that still holds sway from our Fall from grace.

Trying to comprehend ‘judgement’ I have always favored a verse from Dante’s: The Divine Comedy.

For as I turned there greeted mine likewise
What all behold who contemplate aright
that’s Heavens revolution through the skies.

There are signs visible to everyone when they look for them. There just isn’t one obvious sign for everyone.

But still that will reduce the number of deceived people who are following false religions.
But it will increase the number of confused people following the “true” religion.

My point again: a cross in the sky is still very general, obscure, and detached.

I don’t believe the Father wants to be understood in this manner. I believe that people such as yourself, who are sincerely looking for the truth, please Our Father very much. To come to truth requires humility and persistence coming from a love of God and goodness, which I believe is of much more worth than an objective knowledge of the truth. An objective knowledge, much like the Isrealites had of the manna falling from the sky, was all about themselves trying to survive, so it didn’t really “stick”, you know? Little did they know that their experience was telling a larger story of salvation history, and would have greater value to those people who would read about later, people who were searching for God’s truth out of love and humility. Again, you can’t fully know God’s truths unless you search for them in this manner (out of love and humility). Only then will you come to an understanding of their full meaning and value.

This sort of speaks to what I have just stated above. But I believe we can only come to discover the fullness of God’s truths through a process of both faith and reason. They both work together, much like a bride and groom working together everyday to make a marriage work.

His signs to those without religion are logic and love.

Logic clearly shows that some things are illogical–drunkenness.

Love clearly shows two loving parents are a great benefit to dropping the child off at an orphanage.

To deny those kinds of logic are illogical–can’t people SEE the signs,
