Why I am not a Christian?

I have never been a Christian nor will I ever become a Christian because of these main reasons.

1- Christianity is man-made religion. it contradicts pure monotheism which all previous prophets taught

2- It is vague when it speaks of a man being God at the same time , and being the son of himself?!

3- it accuses me of being guilty of an alleged sin which I have nothing to do with… Why are we being punished for Adam’s sin? After all, he ate the
forbidden fruit, we didn’t. It’s his problem, not ours, especially in
light of Deut. 24:16, which says children shall not be punished for the
sins of their fathers.

4- It makes God look so helpless and blood thirsty because He could not forgive Adam & Eve and required the torture humiliation of himself to forgive them ??!! in other words He killed himself to please himself!

5- the Bible is full of contradictions, scientific and historical mistakes which proves it is man made

6- If you must accept Jesus as your Savior in order to be saved (John
14:6), what about the billions of beings that die as fetuses, infants,
and mentally deficient, etc.? For them to accept Jesus would be
impossible. So they are condemned to hell because of conditions over
which they had no control. Deut. 32:4 says God is just, but where is
the justice?
  1. If God had created Adam and Eve to stay in Heavens, was He unable to protect them from Satan? Did He warn them against obeying Satan by telling them the consequences if they did?
The fact is: When God created Adam & Eve, HE put them in Paradise & warned them against obeying Satan, & told them that if they did obey him, they will be kicked out of Paradise.
We know the rest of the story. Of course it was Gods plan all along to have Adam & Eve live here on earth, but He made them go through that experience with Satan as a practical lesson for all of us so that we know what happens to us if we disobey God & obey Satan, unless you think God planned for them to stay in Paradise forever but was unable to protect them from Satan.

8- salvation either wipes out all sins, or it does not.
If the first case is true, then it leads to what we say that Christianity encourages people to do whatever they please.

If the second case is the fact, then there is no need to what Jesus PBUH had gone through.
  1. Christians worship more than one God, ie Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Christians say that it is only one God, however even their most knowledgeable priests cannot completely explain the trinity.
  2. Christians disregard the laws of the Old Testament, and have made it legal for themselves to do sinful acts such as eating pork, drinking alcohol, and not circumcising their sons.
  3. Christians depict images of holy figures such as Jesus, Mary, saints, and other prophets and use those images to direct their worship. I regard this as idolatry, and also as disregarding the second of the ten commandments:
“You shall have no other gods besides Me…Do not make a sculpted image or any likeness of what is in the heavens above…”
  1. Most Christians insult other religions/religious leaders such as Muslims. This tells me that they have very little tolerance and believe that they have a monopoly on truth; therefore they are unwilling to consider any other religions’ beliefs.
  2. Most of the Christians practices in Church and in their homes were invented after the time of Jesus. Almost everything Christians due whether it is standing in church singing songs to hanging crosses on their necks is an innovation.
Peace.

In # 1 and 10 you claim Christians do not follow biblical teaching on monotheism and the dietary laws in Leviticus, yet in #5 you say the bible is full of contradictions and man-made. Which is it, we should follow the bible or not?

No, since the bible has been Corrupted by man, no you shoud not follow it.

then it is not logical to criticize us for not following the bible as you do in #1 and 10, so drop those from your list.

It’s logically to criticize any one who believe in one book as scripture God’s words and do not follow it. Regardless whether its corrupted or not

Seems to me the Koran is the book corrupted by man. Mohammed was illiterate so the Koran was written years after his death. To prove my point tell a story to one person and have that person tell it to another. Then that person to another and so on for just 4 or 5 times and then have the last person tell you the story. It will be very different from your original story.

You are contradiction yourself again. I feel sorry for you. I will pray for you. 😦

I assume you are Islamic given the forum, but you don’t say what you do believe.

Islamics worship the same God that Catholics do - the God of Abraham.

If He were standing in front of us today, you would find this is not a debate. We are to seek the Truth, and live by it. If you believe you are doing that from the bottom of your heart, I defend your right to believe what you choose to believe even if I disagree with you.

I too will pray for you, that you continue to seek the Truth, as like me you are made in OUR God’s image. Good luck!

If you’re so sure, why do you bother posting here at all?

Exactly!

The guy is giving us a chance to speak to him, which is possibly what he wants. Or maybe he thinks he is helping us out.

G.A., have you ever given someone a real chance to answer your questions? Have you done any real searching into the answers for those questions?

If someone were to attempt to answer those questions, would you think about the answers, or would you try to play lawyer games like jumping on semantic or ~percieved~ contradictions?

If you would truly like your questions answered, I believe I can.

Yeah, the Trinity is tough to understand, so I guess we should give the all-knowing Allah a free pass when he screws up it up  :

When criticizing Christianity, “Allah” claims that the Christian Trinity is the Father, Jesus, and Mary and nowhere is the Holy Spirit even mentioned at all as being worshipped as God. You’d think if he was going to condemn the Trinity he should probably have chosen to condemn the persons who actually make up the Trinity

O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His apostles. Say not “Trinity” : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah. Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs. (4:171)

“And (remember) when Allaah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): “O Jesus son of Mary! Did you say unto men: ‘Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allaah?’ (5:116)

Why I am not a Muslim:
  1. I don’t beat women.
  2. I don’t stone people to death.
  3. I don’t follow a prophet who married a 6 year old.
    Need I go on?

Perhaps you should read some of Bishop Spong’s writings. He will answer alot of your questions. His books think about the idea of old chrisitanity, and how it may have to change. I would advise “Why christianity must change or die” this may help you to understand and may even put you on the path to bbeing a chrisitian! 🙂

Funny, that’s the same thing we think about Islam!😃

I take great offense to these statements (#1-2) and I am not even Muslim.

I agree, I would hope that muslims would not go around on their forums saying they are not catholic because they are not paedophiles and hper conservative gay bashers. Non of the accusations which have been made here are true.

I’ll have to check my Bible again. I thought Jesus said “Love your neighbor as I have loved you” not “Love thy neighbor unless he challenges our faith then rip his heart out”. :o

Is this the example of Christinaity we would like to set?

Do these kind of confrontive debates really help anyone?

Yes.

Gurrato, may you be open to the answers on your quest. May God answer them for you. May he speak clearly. He brought you to this forum for a reason. Listen for the truth. I’ll pray for you.

Peace to you, my brother.
