Regarding God’s intent in leading you into the Catholic faith, sometimes we just need to step back and assess the situation and your individual needs. You have identified a deficit in the social life for young adults in your church. Might that be why you were led there? What can you do about it?
Regarding Christian masculinity, maybe check John Eldridge’s book Wild at Heart. His other book, Waking the Dead really helped me.
Regarding getting rid of “stinking thinking,” check out The Feeling Good Handbook by Burns. Very practical.
