Go and read all of his posts (on this and other threads) and tell me heās a āfaithfulā Catholic.Elvisman, darling.I think youāre being a bit over-zealous here. From what I have read the OP IS a faithful Catholic who also enjoys spending time with our separated brethren. There is NO reason, so long as he attends Mass faithfully, why he shouldnāt attend other worship services throughout the week. That is no reason to bar him from the Eucharist, presuming heās adequately prepared himself to do that. Heās a smart guy (naming himself after the son who āR-U-N-N O-F-Tā, came to himself, and was the guest of honor at his homecoming party, very smart indeed!) and I daresay heāll recognize a teaching at odds with Catholicism if/ when he hears it. If heās not there to correct the misconceptions, whoās going to do it? He isnāt waffling, being blown about by every wind of doctrine.
There is still a great deal of truth about Jesus Christ being taught in non-Catholic churches. My own husband observed as he was going through RCIA last year that he didnāt have to change any of his core beliefs to embrace Catholicism! They believe in God, the Father Almighty maker of Heaven and earth, they believe Christ is the 2nd person in the Holy Trinity, born of a Virgin, who suffered and died on a cross, rising from the dead on the third day in fulfillment of the Scriptures, they believe in the Holy Spirit who breathes life into our souls and convicts us of sin.
If spending every night of the week in worship is what God has called him to, who are any of us to tell him not to do that?![]()
I donāt want to get into a āspittingā contest with you over Prodigalson, but if you read his posts, youāll see where heās coming from. God doesnāt call anybody to confusion.
When you belong to the Catholic Church - you are not to go āsearchingā for the ātruthā in another Church. The Catholic church is the fullness of the Gospel. I never said that you canāt find partial truth elsewhere. You can find parts of truth in Buddhism, Islam, Hindusim, Paganism and all the Protestant denominations - but it doesnāt mean that you should shop there.
Anyway, as a convert, I hope that you can see what Iām saying.
