Why I enjoy church hopping

gee wiz … you keep saying “I mean no offense to anyone.” I’m sorry buddy but you sound like a chick flick. Why the heck would you think that you offended anyone? Even if you did, why would you apologize for it?
The apology is in respect of culture, I see people from all over the globe and credit the web for being widely accessible.

Here in Australia when something appears un-believable we say “stone the flaming crows” some Pakistani people may wonder why does he want to throw rocks at crows and how did they come to be on fire.

Suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope (Romans 5:3-4)

If your religious affiliation is of truth - then you must be Catholic.
So you say no problem to me. But what i wanted you to understand was it was a truth as in testimony of my heart. It is how i see where i am on the journey.
You and prodigalson12 seem to think that God’s truth is smeared like butter over religions.
No men embrace or deny truth. Truth is unavoidable so i guess you could consider it everywhere.
What is spread around is Gods goodness it is often where it is not deserved, I see this as Gods grace.
Unfortunately, you have both fallen victim to relativism - “my truth vs. your truth”. Truth is truth - there is nothing else that qualifies, my confused friend.
You have done little to understand me but are keen to speak for me, it can be a fine line between discernment and judgement.

There is only one truth if you suggest men can have individual truth you promote idolatry.

I feel badly for folks that feel the need to re-invent the wheel.
Yes it is sad, sadder i guess is how many times we as men have been so full of our selves God has had to renew His covenants.

Let us not try to reinvent the beauty of Gods goodness given to us for we cant. But let us seek it and build it up. Gather the lost and the lame.

When I look at people in these forums some try to do this.

May God bless you for your genuine efforts at building and forgive any repentant who tear down the prodigal son on his path home.

Remember what God said in Rev. 3:15-16:
“I know that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot.
So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.”
I can see how you are trying to interoperate this in relation to this thread. But i see stepping out as being more passionate or on fire.

For me i have often considered it to be the casual believers warning.

Those who state they believe and don’t really take action or know what they say they believe.

Not to take action is to go to mass but not live the love of the word in day to day.

To not know what they believe would be like a Catholic denying Muslims worship the same Allah.

Maybe the latter would be more blind than warm.

Huh??🤷

**Please - when you write - try to stay focused. It’s very difficult to continue this conversation with you and Prodigalson12 when your sentences don’t make sense.
Maybe English isn’t your first language (or Prodigalson12’s) and, if so - I understand.

I applied this scripture verse to Prodigalson12 because of his unwillingness to make a spiritual committment. It does apply.

So you say no problem to me. But what i wanted you to understand was it was a truth as in testimony of my heart. It is how i see where i am on the journey.
To accept many versions of the “truth” is to deny the real Truth - which is God revealed through his Church.

God’s truth IS everywhere but not everybody accepts it - like you and Prodigalson12.

What are you talking about?
How do I promote idolatry? Please show me the error of my ways.
This I’ve GOT to hear.

Suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope (Romans 5:3-4)
***"And these are the ones sown on rocky ground who, when they hear the word, receive it at once with joy. ***
But they have no root; they last only for a time. Then when tribulation or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away." Mark 4:16-17

I’m not falling away, in fact, I’m falling even closer to the Lord, the sower has done well indeed!!!

Sorry - but you have no roots as that passage says. You’re a spiritual wanderer.**
Until you can settle down and show a real committment to Christ, that’s all you’ll ever be.

Jesus never advocated “Lone Ranger” Christianity. That’s why he established His Church.

You are so kind in your enormous suffering of me even after i have **already discussed **this problem with you in previous post.

Your going on at me does not help me but does help you to put me down lower.

Multi colours is difficult for me but Jesus (pbwh) met people where they were at, so maybe if try this for you we will communicate more caring and effective. Please be patient with me while i try to get the hang of it.

If you tell me you are wearing brown pants and you are it is truth even Gods truth.
If someone tells you they do not believe and they don’t, that statement is Gods truth.
I have stated my religion as best i can in short space.

I want to speak the truth, Many here say they are Catholic but don’t believe Muslims adore the same God.
The question then is which is true, that they are Catholic or Catholics don’t believe Muslims adore the same God?
To accept many versions of the “truth” is to deny the real Truth - which is God revealed through his Church.
Where i have argued against this, we are agreed, i know you say it is my English that is making your life hard. I accept this as truth
Let the burden fall as deserved.
Lifting the burden is what Jesus (pbwh) calls us to do.
I do not want to be like the Sadducee and Pharisee that were in error pushing burden but not help in lifting it. Burden pushing is of satan

I say

Before you had issue about my listed religion now you are in agreement with me? What is the point? Amen is less typing.
How do I promote idolatry? .
In this statement i took you spoke of two truths
Unfortunately, you have both fallen victim to relativism - “my truth vs. your truth”.
I have offered the same as you there is only one truth, i added if one offers an alternative truth they make an idol god.
From your following posts i see you see only one truth and i perceive you reckon you have it all, if it is real truth is God business.

You say
Please show me the error of my ways.
This I’ve GOT to hear.
No if we refer to earlier posts i offered
I should always be keen to be corrected, when I need it,
but i ask keep it about me not about you.
About who i should be relative to who i am now.
A great place to start would be to show me my lack of commitment you claim.
God bless you for your caring
I never offered to correct you, reading your posts it seems to me that you have me all figured out.
I dont have you all figured out but will share with you my opinion. It is true opinion but that does not make it Gods truth nor does this statement mean it is not Gods truth. Gods truth is it is my opinion.

You are very arrogant in you posts this turns me off of your religion. You remind me of those Jesus (pbwh) spoke against for exulting themselves above sinners.

I wonder how many, people of other denominations prostitutes, tax cheats, druggies you have helped into the faith?

I guess if you are in right relationship with God and being ready to cast stones it must be lots.

**Of course it would be many, the ones that hold the fullness of truth, God does not deny. **

If God calls us to be part of Jesus (pbwh) body and you have stones ready to throw with such pride you must be a real important part of the body.

Very attractive to those God calls the body of Christ to bring home.

I guess all your work mates have come to the light thanks to you, you live on a block full of converts you bought home to the faith.

Or could it be that you are just a brother of the prodigal son?

Could it be your like a brother that did not like the offering his brother made to God so set upon him?

If you had other brothers with you in your efforts, one could think you might like to chuck your brother in a well.

The religion i want to be a part of is about meeting people where they are and helping them find Gods plan for them.

I mean you no harm nor is this correction, it is reflection that helps me and may not be for you,

I reflect story of David (pbuh) and the Palestine i think called Goliath then Jesus (pbwh) and Legion.

Both were in right relationship with God, both are of the same house but only one helps in both the kingdom and this world.

Ask am i walking in the way of David (pbuh)
or am i walking in the way of Jesus (pbwh).

Which way does a Catholic walk?

I know maybe because of my English you will say none of this makes any sense to you at all, personally now i am using coloured crayons instead of one colour i have trouble reading it?

God bless you, pray well and stay well

Steve, you know exactly where I am coming from. I was not happy being luke warm, so yes, I had to grasp for more, much more, the allogatiotns I face with that other character are completely wrong. I’ve tried to resolve this with him in PM, yet his obsessive compulsive disorder prevents it from happening.

The underlying factor Catholics lack is the shere fact, you are not made to feel welcomed to be there, the only exception being the Priests. I’ve had so many of these protestant services where people always extended a welcoming hand, a smile, an invite to come back and overall, I have been made to feel welcomed. I don’t get that with the Catholics, I rarely get even the most remote gesture of warmth from them no matter where I attend mass at.

It makes me think, it really does, and I can never blame someone for leaving the church on that basis alone. I’m still going to stick with both regardless of what turdball want’s to stomp their feet at, they do not dictate my faith, they have no idea what I am about, what I experience and I cannot expect everybody to understand, but to be blunt, I’ve never received a harsh word from any of the protestants when I mention my perspectives.

prodigalson12:
I really feel for you Bro,
for me it is a little different.
My parish really loves me and are very warm (as in friendly) i love them so much.
Lots are pretty warm even cold about faith in action but i guess they have done a lot and been disheartened not getting to see the fruit.

My parish is pretty old by average age so i just thank God for all they have done to prepare for me.

The sad part is the pastrol assistants have a real hold on our parish and that is limiting our outreach, even to our own youth.

At our Pentecostal fellowship it is the opposite they are real keen to spread the word and we are very active.
Much they are too gung ho and need to be rained in to some effective planning.

Dear Brother never give up on any one who says they are a believer help them by seeing Gods goodness in them and build it up.

I pray God bless us all who have had (name removed by moderator)ut to this thread that we become better at doing our Fathers will.

PS be real careful about boxing all Catholics to be the same my diocese has enormous diversity in its parishes so many people may not have the same experiences as ours.

PS - I’ve asked you to stop making personal attacks because it’s against forum rules. I have no choice but to report you for calling me the above name in red in your last post.

You call me arrogant because I state the Catholic Church’s position - not my own.
If you find this to be arrogant, then you know nothing of the Catholic Faith.
God is not arrogant and neither is His Church.

Man, I so wish they had an ignore member option on this board, I could have used it on you long ago. I enjoy the Baptist services the most, mainly due to the lengthy sermons, they also sing and tend to use modern istruments which do make you feel good, for it’s good to sing praises to our lord. I have attended services with other denominations and they didn’t fit well with me, ie. the feel good “only” services with very little meat to them, but still regardless, it’s better to go to even one of those, what I call God pep rallies, then nothing at all.

I suppose I could report quite a number of your posts to the staff here, even with this last post, you still attack me, you still slander me, and you still bear false whiteness against me. That’s ok, Christ stated that you would be hated by the world because you are not of the world. I forgive you regardless, this is the very last response I make to you, for I refuse to dignify what you say of with a response, and again, as stated via. PM, those colorful font’s of yours makes them easier NOT to read.

To those that might be confused, there are fundamentalist Catholics and fundamentalist protestants, these are the types that insist their way is the the only way, that they are the only ones capable of walking with God, clearly they are not.

The ultimate “God Pep Rally” is the Mass and the Holy Eucharist.

As for personal attacks - all I did was state the Church’s position and you found that offensive. Not my problem, my Protestant friend. You’re the one who resorted to vulgarity. When the going gets tough - the ignorant usually do.

It’s a shame, though, that you can’t seem to settle down and take your relationship with Jesus seriously. As I indicated before, Jesus never advocated Lone Ranger Christianity - nor did he advocate cafeteria Catholicism.

Our and your was more geographical, i live in regional SA. I would speak of the police station as my local police station. Sorry for not explaining better.
