Your point may be true Fix, except for one part: “Not true at all”.

Ken’s original point is true, most Catholics contracept. I’d guess his figure of 80% is likely quite accurate. I’d also speculate that most Catholics are not opposed to the homosexual lifestyle. In my parish the priest asked the parishiners to call the local Representative in an effort to oppose a vote on gay marriage (I live in Mass). The priest followed up a few weeks later by asking the Representative how many calls he received. The Rep relied, “not a one”. Catholics who follow thier faith are in the small minority. Even amongst Catholics. These Catholics in these forums are the exception, not the rule.

Sorry, I was misread. Catholics do contracept, sterilize, abort, IVF, sodomize as much as the pagan culture. The bishops failure to Shepherd and catechize is a big part of the problem. I could rant…

Shosana - Re well, I only ever hear from men that are infected. I never hear from lesbians being infected. Without getting into gruesome details there are differnces in their practices. Lesbians are not exposed to the body fluids which transmit the disease.

I am kind of confused by this. I do not think that MOST Catholics who use birth control accept homosexuality. I don’t think they are so woefully uniformed on the church’s teachings on ABC either. I am willing to bet that they pick and choose what they feel is really bad depending on where they feel inclined to sin. We all have a tendency to excuse our own sins and condemn the sins of others, but Christ calls us to something higher. To a place where we confess our own sins while ministering to others.

My point was most people who claim to be practicing Catholics contracept and do other things contrary to God’s law. Most openly dissent. They say that Rome is wrong, out of touch, yada, yada I know better. Another group claims that Fr.X told them it was ok to contracept and think they are “off the hook”. Both groups, imo, are disingenuous to say the least and very, very wrong.

I disagree with one point. I think most Catholics embrace the gay agenda to one degree or another. In fact, if you push them, as I do regularly, they will come to say that they can’t condemn homosexual behavior because to do so would mean they would have to confront their contraception and that they will not do.
