Why is it important to have faith? How does it improve a person’s character?
Notice that it is very much related to the whole truth. It is living your life as things actually are, in reality, because you personally adhere to truth. For me, when I read the bible as a child, I heard Jesus as truthful and telling me the truth. Just on a very simple level, knowing the truth helps a person make better decisions of every sort about their life. One simple way to relate that to character and virtues is that it will tend to increase prudence. Another simple way is that someone adhering to God will try very hard not to offend him and so will have additional motive not to do harm to others.Faith is first of all a personal adherence of man to God. At the same time, and inseparably, it is a free assent to the whole truth that God has revealed.
