Why is it so hard to talk about the paranormal?

I believe some ghostly manifestations are evidence of purgatory, yet others are most likely demonic in nature. Fallen angels are very deceptive though so it is unwise to engage any of these entities.
But what would the purpose be if ghosts were demons? Ghosts really are not influencing anyone, or even attempting to, that doesnt sound like actions of a demon to me.

Now, it would be a different story if people reported ghosts were telling them lies about the afterlife, lying about God, etc. But we dont see that, most times, ghosts do not communicate with the living, or even try to…

From my experiences in this haunted house, maybe there is some truth they are in purgatory. Many of the male spirits well we would have visions they were evil in life, so they are now a dark energy.

There are many of the ghosts who try to communicate with us (which is called intelligent hauntings/ghosts). However, it is against our religion to speak to them, so we do not. They often force us to talk to them or to listen to what they have to say.

A paranormal investigator who is also a Catholic (although many might have disagreements on this) says he does not believe all of them are demons. He said when asking Catholic exorcists that a ghost can ask for help crossing over. The Catholic would help the spirit cross. Any other message than a simple ask of help are more likely demonic. He is unsure about this fact.

However these ghosts in our house does not want to leave. When asking them to leave, they say they’re not going anywhere and they’ll stay here forever. Even when anointing the house, praying for them to leave. They remain. Sometimes it would seem like it worked, but then we realized it did not. No blessings, cleansing has worked neither. All of them just wants to stay in the house.

It is strange to think people who killed themselves MAY end up being kind of stuck in the house or room they actually died in!!!

Imagine how frightening that would be…if you suddenly woke up in a room and were unable to leave, no matter how hard you tried?!

I dont think we know enough about ghosts to make any guesses, Sometimes i think they may be people in purgatory, but other times, Im not so sure, so its anyones guess what they really are.

Maybe when we see ghosts, we are only seeing a small piece of a much larger picture…kind of like the veil being pushed aside just a bit, either onto other ‘plane’ of existence or even another dimension, and for whatever reasons, we are not able to see the whole ‘picture’ in the earthy realm we live in? This is the same explanation as some think explains UFOs too, since most of the time, UFOs are grainy, blurry, out of focus, like a ghost is…maybe these too are just glimpses from another plane? Maybe people living on that plane see us as ghosts and other strange things?
I think this makes sense too. I do not think anyone knows really. There can be a possibility they can remain in a house they died in, I think. No one quite understands it.

To the best of my knowledge, (outside of tested and approved apparitions) all visible spirits on earth, as well as the invisible, are demons. Even if appearing beautiful and friendly, their purpose is ultimately demonic. So many of us desire to know if a loved one is in heaven. Well, that knowledge is not granted to us. Can you engage a spiritist and seek to know? Certainly, but you open the door to the demonic realm, as all such things reside there. Anything that is against God’s will in the spiritual world is, by definition, demonic.

The Church tests and canonizes causes for Sainthood, but that is not to an absolute certainty- only a moral certainty as I understand it. The problem is that canonization may take hundreds of years and we want to know NOW! The problem ultimately is with our desires.

The souls in heaven would be loathe to leave the Beatific Vision, even if God send them. In scripture, angels immediately return to heaven once their assignment is complete. Think of this: could not many more be saved if they were allowed to remain here? Perhaps, but our Lord already said that many will not believe even if someone should rise from the dead. As well, we have those here among us already bearing witness to God’s goodness.

If we’re going to take the line that some ghosts may be attached to a certain place due to their undergoing some sort of purgatory, the USS Arizona is supposed to have some hauntings, from my understanding.

I lifted the following off the net -

seeksghosts.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/pearl-harbor-ghost-of-uss-arizona.html
For years, people who have visited this memorial and park service employees have witnessed some strange activity. Many photographs that have been taken around the memorial have captured strange foggy spots and misty human figures seem to appear in the background of these photographs. One specific ghost that appears is said to be the officer who was posted on the Arizona’s deck the morning of December 7, 1941. Distracted by something personal he left his station briefly. It was during this time the Japanese planes attacked. This officer was killed. Some speculate he is seen because he is driven by guilt to walk the deck and then look out near the flagpole. He is seen mostly at night, low tide and in the dim light of dawn.
Let’s assume this is the case. Now the fact remains that as a rule, most sailors and soldiers are not known for angelic behaviour during their off hours. Sydney’s King’s Cross was a bohemian centre prior to the Vietnam War for example, but became the red light district when American and Australian servicemen came to Sydney for R&R.

And I think you could make the same assertion the world over - I don’t think there’d be much difference between American, Australian, German, Cuban, Russian or Japanese seamen when they hit land.

So in the case of Pearl Harbour what you’d have would be a lot of men killed while on duty, but in an unrepentant state of mind, too busy doing their duty in an emergency to give much thought to eternity.

They’d sacrificed their lives for their country, but God’s moral law is a bit tougher than that.

So where do they go?

Just wondering. This might sound a bit silly, but maybe a priest or three needs to go to the USS Arizona and hear some ghostly confessions. Over the top? Well, a lot of visitors seem to have seen some sort of phenomen when visiting this naval tomb.

As an addendum to my post above, one might wonder if the Arizona “ghosts” might be given a second chance, then why not all participants in armed conflict.

I think the answer to that is that the Arizona crew had no warning or expectation that they were going to be involved in an act of war. Had survivors later been involved in the Battle of Midway just 6 months later, they then would have been well aware they could quite possibly be killed or badly wounded. They could have availed themselves of any number of chaplaincy or priestly confidences supplied by the US Navy. If they did not do so, then they had made a deliberate choice to ignore the deliverance offered by Christ.

But the 7th December 1941 was a peaceful Sunday morning, like any other Sunday morning in a country not at war. The troops at Pearl Harbour had almost a right to expect to live out the day. So much so, that they were caught napping almost. So even the most atheist amongst them had no chance to reconcile themselves to their Maker.

I therefore suspect that some might be doing their purgatory until released, confined to the bowels of a sunken ship. Not a great way to spend 73 years. Looks like God may not be very soft.

That’s my take on the hauntings of the USS Arizona.

Our wills are frozen at the moment of death, so what’s done is done. however, if such a situation ever came to warrant official attention, I believe that the exorcism rite for physical locations is much simpler than for persons.

I can assure you that evil spirits exist (fallen angels) who have the power to assume physical form. I have performed simple exorcisms with plenty of knowledgeable people as witnesses. I see so much paranormal activity that people do not recognize. I see it in entertainment, I see it in what appears to be alien activity, I see it in pagan beliefs, I see it even in prayer meetings. Jesus Christ came to redeem us from the works of Satan and other evil spirits, this is part of our Christian beliefs. It’s specifically mentioned in the rite of Baptism, do you renounce Satan and his works. So for me there is no question to the reality of evil spirits and what they can do, and deception is what they are all about to bring about the damnation of mortals by leading them away from Jesus Christ, God-man. The secular world is blind to this truth and it is putty to Satan’s power as an angel. to influence it. this includes all areas of human activity. People laugh at what they don’t understand. Jesus said “…that even if a man were to rise from the dead, people would not believe”
