*Catholics do not worship Mary, they love, honor and respect her for who she is, the Mother of God. *
Mary is the Mother of God and my mother too. Those who keep God’s Commandments and bare witness to Christ are her “offspring”.
*She was the perfect Mother and the perfect disciple. Mary was the one chosen (handpicked) by God from all time and all women to be the Mother of God. She was the precious vessel and the way our Lord, Jesus Christ entered this world. *
*She has always done the “will of our heavenly Father” and is by Jesus’ definition, His “brother, and sister, and mother” (His loyal servant, follower and disciple). She showed us how to love her Son. She was the Mother of God and one of Jesus’ greatest disciples. *
*Mary, was the only person who ever lived that was with Jesus Christ from the beginning, until the end, at the foot of His cross. *
*She held the baby Jesus in her arms, loving Him and protecting Him, never letting Him go, until he was taken from her, at the Cross. *
*Mary never denied or left Him. *
*Mary was present in the upper room, during Pentecost! *
As for the blessed Mary in scripture, there exists not a single word against her.
*There is no finer example of a person who has completely surrendered himself or herself to the will of God, as Mary. She was madly in love with her Son, Jesus and who from the beginning, knew He was “God with us”. *
*Her perfect expression of surrender, “May it be done to me according to your word” sould be a source of strength for all Christians. *
Mary, kept many things in her heart and reflected on them, she truly knew the Lord before any of the Apostles and He knew her and Jesus loved his mother.
*When Mary brought the baby Jesus to Simeon, His destiny was revealed to her; before any other disciples knew, she knew! *
*“A sword pierced your her heart, so that the thoughts of many hearts would be known”. *
*I can only imagine how she must have suffered and the strength that she must have needed to continue on to the very end, to the foot of His cross. *
*I love Mary… *
**
Mary encouraged Jesus at the wedding at Cana, the point in which He began His ministry, when she said, “Do as He says”. These words should be a reminder to all of us to "do as He says”
*Blessed Mary, the Lord is with you. You are blessed among all women and all generations shall consider you blessed. *
*Thank you Mary and pray for us that we may always think of your great example of love, sacrifice and surrender. One cannot think about you, Mary, without thinking about your son Jesus. *
May my focus allows be on Christ, as you were always focused on Him.
Peace
