I didn’t ask about other Catholics, I asked you. This is the 3rd time. Are you going to explain your understanding of these terms and give your opinion?

Because otherwise, quite frankly, what you are doing could be construed as setting a rather uncharitable trap for someone. That wouldn’t be very Christian.

You hit that nail on the head again MelanieAnne! You have a keen eye. You are absolutely right, setting a trap is exactly what ja4 wants to do. It is not charitable, and it is not a good Christian witness, but he feels called to this “ministry”, and says he delights in doing it.

What matters is not what i believe but what does the catholic church mean by them. What for example are we to believe by the term used of her as the “mediatrix of all graces”?

This is such a loaded theological claim its important to know what the catholic church means by it and if it squares with Scripture.

Why is this important to YOU ja4? You have already made it clear that you believe all the Marian doctrines to be “speculations of men”. Why can’t you leave this topic alone? For some reason, you seem to be compelled to keep coming back month after month, year after year (?) with the same questions. Have you given thought to the source of that compunction?

You also are hindered by the erroneous doctrine of Sola Scriptura. Catholic Teaching comes from Christ, and was whole and entire before the NT was written. It did not stop being whole and entire afterward.

Listening to EWTN one day I heard the comment (and forgive me I don’t remember who said it) that Christ didn’t come to write a book, He came to found a church. And that is what He did, and today that church is called the Catholic Church. Those that get hung up on “Solo Scriptura” are missing out, and that’s unfortunate.

It also appears that love is greater than faith! :bigyikes: Yup, seems alright to love even Mary. Did He command us to worship one another, or Mary? No. Love. So, we love Mary. Seems clear enough. So, what’s the problem with Jesus’ command to love?

Where do the Scriptures command us to “love” those who have died? The way we demonstrate our love to Christ is to keep His commandments. See John 14:21-24.

Gosh, ja4, I think we should stick you in the commandment thread with sandusky and moondweller. Then we can just sit back and watch!

Anyhow, the Apostles don’t make any distinction between those who are in Christ that remain here, or have passed on to their heavenly reward. The teaching is clear that they form around us a great “cloud of witnesses”, and that nothing, even death, cannot separate them from the love of God. They are in Christ in life and in death, just as we are. Paul is quite clear how all the members of the Body are members one of another, and makes no distinction of those who have departed.

What you are saying is “I have no need of the womb” in the Body of Christ, which is just what the Apostles taught us NOT to do!
