Certainly sounds that way, don’t you think?
Yes. However who can do such a thing? All men fall short of this standard and that’w why we need a Savior.

Hmmm. I agree that we all are eternal souls. However, whenver Jesus uses the term “eternal life” He is always speaking of matters pertaining to be saved. Do you not agree?
Yes
In the passage under discussion, when He tells the man to follow the commandments in order to enter into eternal life, do you think that means something other than being saved? We should probably move this to another thread, since it is off topic here.
Quick answer before we get caught since its such a good question. What man can follow the commandments perfectly and gain eternal life? This is impossible. That’s why when a man is confronted with the “bad news” that he can’t keep the law he will either despair or see his need for a Savior (good news).

==============================================

But hey, why not re-post it. It’s good if I do say so myself.

Do you know any command or exhortation in Scripture in which states that we are to “not” love Mary?

John 13:34-35
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

How did He love Mary?

As a mother.

Jesus exhaulted His mother by telling us to keep The Commandments (honor thy mother) and Mary is our Mother.
Interesting take on this… Does that mean that you love all protestants and catholics unconditionally? And I do mean UNCONDITIONALLY.

Jesus does.

Do you believe Mary is your mother?
Yes, I have had many, just as Jesus promised:

Mark 10:29-31
"Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.

I receive all of them from Him.

Rom 8:29
29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the first-born among many brethren.

If we are truly His brethren by faith, how can we not also be grafted into His own mother?

Paul writes about this:

Rom 16:12-13
13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord; and greet his mother — a mother to me also.

Rufus’ mother had been a “mother” to Paul as well.

Jesus does.
SB…I even love those who call themselves my enemies unconditionally. 😃

Because The Bible tells me so.

Plus, God revealed to me that I was right to believe this.
I’m not aware of any place in scripture where Mary is said to be the mother of believers in Christ. Would you happen to have passage or verse what makes you think this?

Sure.

Revelations 12:17 Mary (who gave birth to Jesus Christ) is called the mother of all Christians.

How did you come up with Mary from Rev12:17?
There are several commentaries of Revelation12:17 stating that the ‘God church’ is symbolized as a ‘woman’.

[Rev 12:17] And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (NKJV)

That’s nothing. Some have called the woman Jeruselum. There are a number of different beliefs as to who the woman is by various groups with agendas, but if all you do is read The Holy Bible, you will see that only one woman gave birth to Jesus Christ.

To say that any other woman did is blaspheming The Word of God.

I don’t know what “scholars” came up with, but I know this:

Only Mary fled from Jeruselum for 3 1/2 years (1250) days as mentioned in Rev 12.

Only Mary gave birth to Jesus Christ.

Only Mary was the mother of The King of Kings.

Only Mary brought salvation to the world through her womb (Jesus).

Only Mary could have wailed so much in pain that it required special mention in Scripture as she was a “virgin” when she had Jesus (imagine how painful it is to give birth to a child…now, imagine how much more painful it must be for a woman that’s never had a man in her life).

Only Mary was clothed in the sun for she carried “The Light” Who is Jesus Christ (John 1).

And only Mary gave man re-birth to man through her womb…Jesus is The Life. Whoever accepts Him will have eternal life. That eternal life came through the womb of Mary (Jesus).

Therefore, Mary is our spiritual mother as our eternal life (Jesus Christ) came through her womb…and that’s the job of a mother…to bring forth life.

Your observation is incorrect, Mary does have special power, above that of mere men. Perhaps this will be of some help.
What? I have never heard that Mary has “special powers”. She was a human woman. Why would she have special powers?

When he says “special powers” He’s refering to Mary’s abilty to intercede and despence graces. Her position as the Queen of Heaven and Earth entitles her to abilties beyond that of the other saints, and authority surpassed only by the trinity.

[Luk 1:46] And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord
[Luk 1:47] and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
[Rom 3:10] As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;
[Rom 3:11] there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.
You are taking this passage out of context. Go back and find the passage where it came from. Paul starts out “it is written”. Where? About whom?
What verse of the bible that say Mary was present during the creation?
She wasn’t, but then, neither was the human being, Jesus! 😉 The second person of the Trinity emptied Himself, and took on the form of a servant, and was born of a woman. That man’s name is Jesus. 👍

What type of suffering did Mary endured so that mankind might be saved by her?
You wrote- ‘not a single word against you’ (i.e. mary), why would you state ‘there exists’? Also, the last mentioning of Mary was during Pentecost. After that, she was never mentioned again. No one knows what happen to her.
That may be because you reject the Apostolic Traditions.
Personally, it is wonderful that you are prayerful. I’m not saying that you should stop praying to Mary. But, we should direct all our prayers to God the Almighty, for He is a jealous God and deserving of all our praises and worship.
Yes, that is what you are saying. You are also making the mistake of thinking that, if people pray together, someone somehow takes the place of God. If you ask your friend to pray for you, does that mean you have taken something away from God?
As a footnote, even Jesus deny His own mother- Mat12:47-49.
You have misunderstood this passage.
[Mat 12:47] Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”
[Mat 12:48] He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?”
[Mat 12:49] Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers.

Let us communicate to God directly in prayers.

To God be the glory.
Did you come here to evangelize lost Catholics?

Jesus was perfect. He kept the whole law. He honored his parents, and loved His mother. Adopting others into his family does not take away from His mother, but adds to her brood.

What? I have never heard that Mary has “special powers”. She was a human woman. Why would she have special powers?
John 14:12-14

12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do;** and greater works than these will he do, **because I go to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; 14 if you ask anything in my name, I will do it.

Because of her great faith in her Divine Son?

Yeah! Plus, she’s Jesus’ mother and He must obey her!
Even Jesus cannot dishonor His mother for He cannot contradict Himself…The Word of God!

(Remember what happened at the Wedding of Cana?)

😉

Them, Muslims, Atheists, Satanists, Jews, Anti-Catholics, anybody.
Can I just point something out… This is not meant as an attack at all, just an FYI.

Your posts say something entirely different than your last couple of posts to me. You do not show unconditional love nor do you show a willingness to do anything but chastize and hammer on protestants and anyone you consider your enemy (when it comes to Mary especially).

Your ‘love’ does not show at all.

It’s something to chew on…
