What do you mean when say–“It doesn’t bother me one bit that there are those who love my biological Mother, I am happy for her when this happens.”?Why did the Paul write all of his letters? Why are Paul’s letters in the Bible?
Why are the stories about Job, Noah, Moses, Peter and Paul in the Bible?
The purpose of the thread is an “explanation” to our non-Catholic Christian brothers, to try to show them why we Catholics love Mary.
My “letter” is a compilation of Bible verses written about Mary. Why are these verses in the Bible, if we are not to read, repeat or reflect on them?
This thread is about Mary, written as a “letter to Mary”, as a reflection on the Mary, as described in the Gospels. It is my literary method, used to express a point and hopefully change some of the negative views towards Mary, the mother of God.
I doubt very much that Jesus will mind, that I love His mother. I don’t think He will dislike this “letter”.
It doesn’t bother me one bit that there are those who love my biological Mother, I am happy for her when this happens.
I am happy when someone loves the ones I love.
Truly? Not that I doubt it…she has a way. I am reading this late and getting into this conversation a little late, but I am Catholic and I would like to comment that I read somewhere above that we “worship” Mary. We dont worship Mary, as a matter of fact, Mary would say “all worship and Glory to God (as in the Father, the son Jesus and the Holy Spirit” but we pray to her to intercede for us, and to help us out through our struggles because she understands us so well.A beautiful and well written letter of love and prayer to The Blessed Mother of God.
I also have a special love for Mary (as you might tell by my name). She led me to her Son and His Church. She grabbed my Atheist heart and the rest is history.
Hail Mary Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.
:extrahappy:
Thats it!![]()
Mary is the mother of all those who proclaim the witness of Christ and all those that keep God’s commandments. What do you mean when say–“It doesn’t bother me one bit that there are those who love my biological Mother, I am happy for her when this happens.”?
Are you saying Mary is your “biological Mother”?
2ndGen;3221049]Mary is the mother of all those who proclaim the witness of Christ and all those that keep God’s commandments.
You do realize that there is not one verse of Scripture that comes even close to teaching this kind of thing? She is our spiritual mother.
Let me quote for you from a couple of noted catholic scholars on this passage in Revelation 12.Revelation 12:17
So the dragon was enraged with the woman,
and went off to make war with the rest of her children,
who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.
We Catholics pray our Rosaries and Jesus gives Mary the message, because Jesus is God, and God is omnipresent, but Mary is not. I am sure angels deliver our dire prayers or perhaps God does because he is everywhere, not sure, but I do know all my prayers have always been answered, especially when I ask Mary to ask her Son to help me out, especially Novenas. Maybe not the same day, but they are answered. The times I did not get exactly what I prayed for, I was given the “wisdom” to see why they didnt get answered exactly like I asked. I saw or found out later why things worked out the way they did. Everything happens to God’s plan, but He does spoil us when we ask for things that are good, not material.i said ‘some kind’ of ominiscience. catholics dont say it outright, but thats what it logically amounts to: millions of catholics praying to her all at the same time…you’ll need some kind of ‘all knowing’ powers in order to recieve and understand all those simultaneous messages coming long distance from earth.![]()
John 19:26You do realize that there is not one verse of Scripture that comes even close to teaching this kind of thing?
Not one writer of the NT ever makes this claim about her.

Where in scripture is the apostle John said to be the representative of the entire church?John 19:26
By the way, we all know what Jesus said about depending on scholars for spiritual guidance don’t we?You do realize that there is not one verse of Scripture that comes even close to teaching this kind of thing?
Not one writer of the NT ever makes this claim about her.
What they are saying is that it does not fit to call the woman in Revelations 12 Mary.
you are right about the sarcasm and I was really just being resentful of this post:Wow. Where in the OP does it stereotype an entire group of people?
BTW - sarcasm doesn’t really translate to written text, one generally ends up appearing snide and just plain rude.
but I wasn’t talking only about the OP. look through the thread and you will see posts with “a protestant would say…” and “protestants do…”. I suppose the thread made a good atmosphere for generalization, when I have never seen anyone ever even say it is wrong to love Mary. Also, there really is very little response from protestants.
All the apostles were representatives of the Church.Where in scripture is the apostle John said to be the representative of the entire church?
U R correct Sir.you are right about the sarcasm and I was really just being resentful of this post:

That’s all
youtube.com/watch?v=oGaHpexp2-4All the apostles were representatives of the Church.
What does that have to do with anything?
Luke 10:16Where in scripture is the apostle John said to be the representative of the entire church?
Your answer was a “slamdunk”!What does that have to do with anything?
Oh:blush: thanksYour answer was a “slamdunk”!

Do you know the context for this passage?2ndGen;3221400]Luke 10:16
“He that heareth you heareth me;
and he that despiseth you despiseth me;
and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.”
This is where you must be careful in equating the church itself with Jesus as being the church. If you do all kinds of problems will result. That’s “if” one believes that Jesus “is” The Church!
