BlackPlanet?

Or

Migente?

And…how do you feel about the other ethnic paintings of Mary?
I think Mary should be depicted true to her ethnic origins. Same for Jesus. A decidedly white Mary is an insult to Middle Eastern people, IMHO.

Hey Namesake…is that “dark” enough for ya?

👍

(Well done Goth)
I just think ethnic accuracy would be refreshing. Dark enough for me? That isn’t the issue. Accurate? That’s could be important.

That’s why I was asking!

I heard that there was a manufacturing defect.

Did you get the recall notice?

👍
On the bluetooth? Mine has been working like a charm for 6 month now. Are you having issues with yours? You may need to call Vatican Customer Care. Choose option 1 then 2 to get to a bluetoooth Papal decoder ring tech.

So she should be portrayed as white?

Mary, being a descendant of David was most likely “like” David who was described as white (red hair, very fair skin, etc…).

And the middle east is full of fair skinned people.

Not that color should matter.

Well getting back to the OP’s question… Why is it wrong to love Mary?

Continued from my last post:

Now here is the truth, I don’t think you want to hear:

The Roman Catholic Church actually collected the books of the Bible, translated the books, titled most of the books, excluded many “books” and put them in order. The Roman Catholic even decided which books were to be called the “Gospels”.

Note: The book of James was originally called the “Catholic book”. Martin Luther did not like that or the book itself and he called it the “book of straw” and wanted to remove it from the Bible, lucky for you, it is still there, the “Catholic Book” is still in your Bible. Don’t take my word for it, look it up.

I know why you can’t or won’t accept the historical fact that the Roman Catholic Church “gave” you (Protestants) the Bible, it is (in my opinion) because if you admit that fact, then it doesn’t make any sense to use a “Catholic Book” to argue against; or “bad mouth” Roman Catholics or the Roman Catholic Church, the only “keepers” of the Bible for the first fifteen hundred years of Christianity.

·The Roman Catholic Church collected the books of the Bible
·The Roman Catholic Church translated the books of the Bible (from the original languages)
·**The Roman Catholic Church transcribed and copied the books of the Bible. (for fifteen hundred years, until the advent of the printing press) **
·The Roman Catholic Church and Roman Catholic Popes approve the order of the books of the Bible
·The Roman Catholic Church and Roman Catholic Popes approved the titles of the books of the Bible
·The Roman Catholic Church and Roman Catholic Popes excluded “Books” from the Bible
·**The Roman Catholic Church kept and protected the Bible for the first fifteen hundred years of Christian history **
·**The Roman Catholic Church passed down the Bible and they used it (and use it) to instruct Roman Catholics **

The Roman Catholic Church “gave” you the Bible, as you know it today, period.

Any questions?

Here is a history of the Formation of the Bible, this happens to be a “Catholic” web site but you can obtain this same information from many “Protestant” sites and even find this information in any secular library. 👍
i’m very much aware of the issues involved in the formation of the canon of the Scriptures. No doubt Christ used the catholic church as His tool. No debate there. However, your boasting is misplaced. God could have easily used another way to get the job done as He did when He rebuked the prophet with a donkey. The mere fact that He gave the church the Scriptures themselves is an incredible blessing.

Do you study them?

Did not Jesus turn water into wine at the command of Mary?

Is Mary not the queen of the entire celestial court?

Did God not find favor with Mary by selecting her to be the Mother of Jesus?

Just answer these questions and it becomes evident why Mary is loved by Catholics.

Mine is ok too. Motorola struck a deal with Rome…something about dispensations for one of the CEO’s. I don’t know. I stay out of that whole thing…as long as I got my ring, I’m golden!
