For it to be wothwhile for Muslims to engage in discussions with Christians regarding the moral credentials of Muhammad (pbuh) to be the final Messenger of God who has been sent as a mercy to all of humanity, Christians need to first acknowledge that God has created a place called Hell and that it is no one else but God Himself who will send a whole lot of His creations to the Hell-fire.

As long as Christians hold the view that an all-loving God will not have the stomach to send His creations to the Hell-fire, then it would only be an exercise in futility for Muslims to try to explain the moral virtues found in Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) that makes him the best of God’s creations in the entire history of humankind.

Catholics believe in Purgatory too.

Well, discussion should has no precondition. If you cannot defend Mohammad, then perhaps what has been mentioned about him by the non-Muslims should be true.

I don’t spend a whole lot of time defending all the rumors of Mohammed. Some may be true, some not. He was just a man and imperfect like King David. Both sides go overboard defending and attacking him.

Forget about all the nit-pickings and the nitty-gritty of the Quran and Islam. All of these are designed merely to camouflage the one message that the Quran wants to propagate, namely, that Jesus did not die and rose again. I say this again, lest Christians get confused and off focus to the real design of Islam: it wants to proclaim that JESUS DID NOT DIE AND ROSE AGAIN. And this is a BIG LIE!

The work of God’s plan of salvation for humankind was completed when Jesus died on the cross. By dying on the cross Jesus defeated spiritual death by his physical death so that mankind will be liberated from the bondages of spiritual death. Death means the languishing in the eternal fire of hell while life means the eternal life in heaven where mankind basks in the pleasure of being face to face with God. Thus Jesus death on the cross spelt defeat for the Evil One.

The only action that the Evil One can mount against this defeat is to spread the lie that Jesus did not die, so that his victims believing in what he got to say do not believe in Jesus and so, not saved.

Any subsequent so-called prophets who bring this message are definitely the agents of the Evil One. Mohammad, rightly or wrongly, is therefore placed in this category. Other than the message of denying Jesus death and resurrection, there is nothing actually notable in the Quran that’s not found in the Bible. In fact the teaching of the Gospels is far superior in morality than the teaching of the Quran. Thus there is no reason to accept the Quran, because the way to achieve eternal life is ONLY to be found in the Gospel.

God bless.

God does not send anyone to hell. Those that go there go there by their own choices. Hence, you proceed from a false assumption. God’s Mercy is great, but we have free will, and that free will enables us to reject God’s Mercy if we choose to.

Having said that, since Jesus is the Way to Eternal Life, there is no need for Muhammad. Citations from the Bible regarding the falseness of anyone after Jesus claiming to have met with an angel & telling a new story have already been given. That is an obvious reference to Muhammad. And our scriptures tell us we should not listen to such a person. So we not only do not recognize Muhammad as a prophet, we recognize him as definitely NOT a prophet and our own scriptures tell us that we should reject any stories he tells.

And speaking directly to the topic of this thread, Jesus said that John the Baptist was the greatest prophet, so that pretty much puts an end to any speculation about anyone else. I don’t have a cite for this because I heard it on an EWTN program yesterday, but there may be others who have the citation readily available.

You forget that you are on a Catholic forum. Belief in hell is required for Catholics.

Islam teaches that throughout human history, there were many Prophets (peace be upon them all) sent to many nations and all of them brought the Message of God with them.

During the time of Prophet Noah (pbuh), he was the Way to Eternal Life.

During the time of Prophet Abraham (pbuh), he was the Way to Eternal Life.

During the time of Prophet Moses (pbuh), he was the Way to Eternal Life.

During the time of Prophet Jesus (pbuh), he was the Way to Eternal Life.

And did Prophet Jesus (pbuh) say that someone would come after him bringing again the Message of the Lord?

During the time of Prophet Jesus (pbuh), he was the Way to Eternal Life.
Jesus is not a Prophet. Jesus is the Eternal Word, He is God. When you get that straightened out, you will be on your way to the truth.

And did Prophet Jesus (pbuh) say that someone would come after him bringing again the Message of the Lord?
Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would come. And that promise was fulfilled and continues to be fulfilled today.

If you are interpreting that promise as a reference to Muhammad, you are mistaken.

Further, our scriptures SPECIFICALLY warn us against someone who would attempt to teach the world on the basis of a visit from an angel, and said we should reject any such message should it come after the time of Jesus. This is a specific reference to Muhammad. Hence, no one should follow Muhammad. The citation is this one:
Galatians Chapter 1
8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach (to you) a gospel other than the one that we preached to you, let that one be accursed!
9 As we have said before, and now I say again, if anyone preaches to you a gospel other than the one that you received, let that one be accursed!
As you can see, according to this scripture passage, the teachings of Muhammad are “accursed” according to the Bible.

Islam teaches that throughout human history, there were many Prophets (peace be upon them all) sent to many nations and all of them brought the Message of God with them.
Not only can Islam not prove that Mohammed was brought a message by God. Islam can’t prove that many nations were sent prophets with a message by God.
During the time of Prophet Noah (pbuh), he was the Way to Eternal Life.
Not so. Noah built an ark by God’s command and in doing so he saved his people from drowning and physical. But Noah was not the way of Eternal life. Neither he claimed it nor the Scriptures nor the traditions of the Jews.
During the time of Prophet Abraham (pbuh), he was the Way to Eternal Life.
Again, wrong. Abraham did not claim such a title nor did God give him such a title.
During the time of Prophet Moses (pbuh), he was the Way to Eternal Life.
Again, wrong. Neither Moses claimed such a title nor was he given such a title.
During the time of Prophet Jesus (pbuh), he was the Way to Eternal Life.
Correct. He claimed that title and the Scripture confirm that title for Him.

John 14
6 Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.

John 6
69 And Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

John 17
3 Now this is eternal life: That they may know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

1 John 5

11 And this is the testimony, that God hath given to us eternal life. And this life is in his Son.
And did Prophet Jesus (pbuh) say that someone would come after him bringing again the Message of the Lord?
Yes. The Holy Spirit.

John 14
26 But the Paraclete, the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring all things to your mind, whatsoever I shall have said to you.

Sincerely,

De Maria

According to your “moral virtues” the best people are:

robbers - Muhammad made a living by looting and raiding caravans

pedophiles - Muhammad had sex with a 9 year old

rapists - Muhammad and his followers raped women captives after torturing and killing their husbands

assassins - Muhammad had people killed for merely writing satyrical poems about him

Why Is Muhammad The Greatest?
Hi

Accoding to the concept of Catholics, Jesus’ Second Coming has not taken place; and they don’t know any hour, day, date, year as to when he would come. Maybe he never comes as he did not die on Cross and died naturally later in Kashmir India, so in my opinion he is never to come, one may wait for him till eternity like the Jews are wailing and waiting for their Moshiach. A concept never to be fullfilled.

Muhammad also prophesized for Coming of Jesus, as one of his follower or KhalifaSuccessor, that prophecy has been fullfilled in the PromisedMessiah 1838-1908, that proves the title of this thread.

I think you agree with me.

Thanks
