I’ve been thinking about this issue for quite some time and I just wanted to hear what Catholics say about it.
First, welcome to the forum.I’ve been thinking about this issue for quite some time and I just wanted to hear what Catholics say about it.
To get you started, please see this active thread.I’ve been thinking about this issue for quite some time and I just wanted to hear what Catholics say about it.
It’s not that were against it it’s that gay marriage can’t exist by nature of the Sacrament, the Sacrament requires that it is a Bride (Female) and Groom (Male), a Same Sex marriage can’t exist due to this.I’ve been thinking about this issue for quite some time and I just wanted to hear what Catholics say about it.
I agree and love the way you stated it!The dust that you see on the ground was once a horse, I care not to beat it further. I’d suggest you do a search of this topic.
In Leviticus what the writer was referring to was rape. And in Romans the writer is only talking about lust.“Thou shalt not lie down with mankind as with womankind, it is an abomination” - Leviticus 18:22
“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; **men with men **working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.” - Romans 1:26-27
But God doesn’t hate homosexuals, and neither do we. And any hate, bullying, harassment, or fear towards homosexuals is condemned. Hate the sin, but love the sinner, as God does.

that is like asking why the Catholic Church is against the tooth fairy:I’ve been thinking about this issue for quite some time and I just wanted to hear what Catholics say about it.
gay marriage is an oxymoron!I’ve been thinking about this issue for quite some time and I just wanted to hear what Catholics say about it.
We’re against gay “marriage” because we’re against gay sex.I’ve been thinking about this issue for quite some time and I just wanted to hear what Catholics say about it.
And there ya go. Succinct and to the point. It’s not that were against it it’s that gay marriage can’t exist by nature of the Sacrament, the Sacrament requires that it is a Bride (Female) and Groom (Male), a Same Sex marriage can’t exist due to this.
You’ve just admitted to being indifferent towards the morality of the society you live in.Because it goes against natural law… Personally I just think Catholics should have the right to say no to it and the Church be allowed to speak its mind against it… Whether or not it gets legalized for civil marriages i’m pretty much apathetic.
I’ll worry about what’s going on in my country… The affairs of America are not your concernYou’ve just admitted to being indifferent towards the morality of the society you live in.
That’s the equivalent of accepting moral relativism, which is anathema to Catholicism.
Your impertinence makes it obvious that you are blind to the fact that your society and my society are a part of western civilisation, the basic tenets of which are under threat. Keep up this type of insulting response and not only will you be displaying your ignorance on world affairs, but you will get yourself banned. CAF welcomes people from all around the world, in case you haven’t noticed. And, in case you didn’t know it, “Catholic” means universal.John why don’t you run along and see what pretty little Julia is doing to the outback

Listen I’m not indifferent to same sex marriage… I firmly oppose it… And your part of the church just as much as I will be in April…Your impertinence makes it obvious that you are blind to the fact that your society and my society are a part of western civilisation, the basic tenets of which are under threat. Keep up this type of insulting response and not only will you be displaying your ignorance on world affairs, but you will get yourself banned.
