Making rules for the Church doesn’t constitute attempting to “improve on Christ.” If my local Church makes a rule that says no parking in a handicapped zone, does that mean we’re trying to “improve on Christ” because Christ imposed no such rule? If my church makes a rule that says “no cell phones allowed” does that mean they’re trying to “improve on Christ” since Christ made no such rule? That’s absurd. Jesus gave his church the authority to make rules. You can argue that this particular rule is a bad idea, but even if it is a bad idea, that still doesn’t equal anyone trying to “improve on Christ.”But now you have made it a requirement, thus you have decided to “improve” on Christ.
