Why is the US Catholic church so obsessed with the gay issue?

I agree that by now in many place the bullying of people with invisible disabilities is more severe than the bullying of LGB, that said the bullying of transgender children is severe across the US.

I am compassionate to all children, whatever their crosses, but I have to think that children with invisible disabilities far outnumber transgender children. But even transgender children fall under invisible disabilities or other emotional issues.

I have to say up-front that I do not understand the transgender issue at all. I do consider it emotional confusion.

Personally, I think people should be pro anti-bullying and compassionate of all kids and not limit it to the transgender and LGBTQ community.
