Oh!!Good.
I was just curious what other things remained on your cafeteria tray.
biblechristiansociety.com/apologetics/two_minute#5Amen and there is way more then pieces of scripture, Then the 4 they read over and over and over again! And why do Catholics still have Christ on the cross? It was not complete till he rose from the dead!
I believe this is an institutional (Catholic Church) interpretation that you must confess to a priest.
for 2000 years, beginning with the Apostles.
For me, I no longer (about 10 years now) use a priest for confession. I establish my confession directly with God. Only He knows what’s in my heart.

There are so many other examples in the Bible (King David and Bathsheba). However, this seems to be an ongoing issue?
I really try not to eat out in a cafeteria. I am very conscientious of what I eat and I usually find that cafeteria food is not most healthy. With that said, I normally eat at home, By the way, what does my eating habits have to do with this post?Good.

I’m not sure about your statement that: “it’s a grace only given to Catholics.” This may be more of a church interpretation than anything else. There are many theological lenses to look at this subject. I’m a cradle catholic of many years now but I’m not too sure at this point in my life about the requirement of confessing to a priest. I’ve been following the sexual abuse crisis in the church further un-fold (most recently just two weeks ago the Archbishop of St. Louis) nbcnews.com/news/religion/st-louis-archbishop-didnt-know-sex-children-was-crime-n127291 making statements during a deposition that were very troubling. I remember coming away from watching that new clip thinking to myself, these people are in know way representatives of Christ. How does this relate to confession in my mind, he may have heard someone’s confession before that deposition. We as Catholics are given the privilege to confess our sins to a priest. It is a grace only given to Catholics.
Sure, no human being wants to confess all their dirty little secrets to another human being ( priests are still human) BUT you have to realize that the priest is acting on BEHALF of Jesus, forgiving our sins.
Non-Christians have it easy when it comes to confessing their sins cause, all they have to do is confess directly to God…and is ALL forgiven…but it sure takes GUTS AND COURAGE to confess to another person…and I believe that is what makes the sacrament of reconciliation special in the Catholic Faith.![]()
Why then do you suppose that sometimes when Jesus healed someone He also told them their sins were forgiven? Spiritual healing is also an event in the process of Confession and Absolution which is what goes on in Reconciliation. There is most definitely a connection between sin and sickness bot physical and spiritual and healing and peace. Look for it.It seems to me that you Catholics just interpret everything fromthe Bible however you want. I personally don’t see how Jesus healing a person has anything at all to do with forgiveness of sins. Reconcilliation was born out of adesire to control the congregation, nothing more.

The same thing is done in analyzing literature. There is much analysis of why Shakespeare wrote what he did why he did and what it means. It seems to me that you Catholics just interpret everything fromthe Bible however you want. The sacraments and the grace they impart are not affected by the holiness or sinfulness of the priest conferring them. This was a question raised and answered many centuries ago with the Donatist heresy I believe.I’m not sure about your statement that: “it’s a grace only given to Catholics.” This may be more of a church interpretation than anything else. Thank you for the reply. That very well may be the case centuries ago but today, I consider that hypocrisy plain and simple. I would have a problem confessing to this man after watching that clip. The sacraments and the grace they impart are not affected by the holiness or sinfulness of the priest conferring them. So… because you wouldn’t confess to a priest whose morals you question, this means that you refuse to confess to any priest whatsoever? That just doesn’t make sense.Thank you for the reply. Please don’t let the bad behaviors of men negate the revelation of Christ. Christ is the one who established the sacrament. This is not something man made that sounds good. So… because you wouldn’t confess to a priest whose morals you question, this means that you refuse to confess to any priest whatsoever?
