Poor Father Mike needs our prayers. I can only imagine the issues he has had with unscrupulous women! 😱

Thanks! What would you do? I feel like I have a crush on him 😭😭😭😭😭 this is just horrible, I never thought that can happened to me
Sorry, i accidentally deleted my comment. Go home and spoil your husband 🙂 Tell your husband you feel a little neglected and had a silly girlish crush on the new priest.

I can think of quite a few men who would not be able to take that kind of information in stride.

OP, you know your husband better than any of us. Use discretion.

The point is that we should be able to be totally honest and open with our spouses. Hey honey, the new ( insert job description) is cute. Or hey honey, lets work on our romance, I feel a little neglected and have had a crush on someone. Or just start spouling your spouse and working on building your significant friendship there.

And yes , use caution, judge your spouse and be lighthearted. Tell your spouse he or she is your world. Re focus your crush on your spouse.

Yes, it could easily cause problems on Sundays during Mass and in her relationship with her husband.

He may not see it as a silly crush but more.

I would be cautious. I would definitely speak to another priest first, preferably in confession.

I accept your ladies, caution and thank you for pointing that out. I won’t delete my comment given you have both quoted it.

thank you.

I will still say, refocus that crush and all that attention back on your husband.
And totally agree, go to confession with another priest.

I sent him a request to be friends on facebook and after a week since he did not accepted me,
Why should he be expected to accept a Facebook friend request from a parishioner? If you sent a Facebook friend request to your doctor, or your dentist, or your child’s teacher, would they be expected to accept it? Perhaps he just wants his own privacy and a private life with his own circle of friends? Maybe he’s just a private sort of guy?
My thoughts as soon as I read the thread !🙂
Respect.

I have several priests as Facebook friends but we pretty much keep our distance from each other

I don’t think my Priest or Deacon have Facebook and neither do I. But yes, the parish does have Facebook, but only for announcements and such, I think.

However I do have my own priest on the handmaids of the precious blood website who I pray for when I remember to( sorry, father X)
I do the Handmaids of the Precious Blood prayer too and I always add an extra line praying for any priests anybody was supposed to pray for today and didn’t get it done. That way we all kind of cover for each other. I have days when I forget, fall asleep, am sick etc and don’t get the prayer done that day though I will try to say it twice the next day to make up. I became concerned about priests maybe going without prayers since none of us are perfect and we all miss a day sometimes.

So when you miss a day for your priest I’m trying to cover and hopefully someone else is too. Maybe you want to add the line to your prayer to help with other people’s missed days.

Thanks bear that means a lot. Honestly I forget a lot so thanks for picking up my slack and reminding me to always pray for our priests every day and I will remember To pray for those who forget. We must remember to scatter prayer liberally

I showed my hubby a picture of father mike and he said something to the effect of ‘whoa that’s one good looking man’ 😂 but yes refocus on the husband. Good advice !

We are sincerely sorry to hear of your struggles. However, the CA Forums are unfortunately not set up to provide intensive spiritual counseling, which can include psychiatric or psychological counseling. Our best advice is for you to seek out a good priest on the local level who knows you or can get to know you because he’ll be treating you in the most fruitful counseling environment: a three-dimensional one. In your case, one other than your pastor. And stick with that priest and the counsel he gives you, especially if the matter pertains to scrupulosity and matters re: Confession.

You may also wish to consider getting other support on the local level from a licensed counselor who is respectful of your Catholic Faith. We suggest you contact your parish pastor and local diocese for counseling referrals. Your diocese may also employ counselors as part of their services.

Regarding counselors, if needed, we also recommend you contact the Pastoral Solutions Institute, which can provide phone counseling re: certain issues for those in America and outside of America.

And Catholic Therapists, which provides contact info. for USA-based therapists.

May you in time know the healing balm of God’s peace (Jn. 14:27). God bless you.

Why my priest ignores me? Catholic Living
Hello, I am new in this forum. I feel extremely sad because my priest is ignoring me in a bad way that it makes me cry. Hello, I am new in this forum. I feel extremely sad because my priest is ignoring me in a bad way that it makes me cry. I am always trying to be friendly and I think to have a friendiship with a priest it would be very nice.

I asked twice for his guidance in two different family matters and he has guided me and I feel so grateful for that, however, after I saw him a couple of times after those appointments I feel like he is ignoring me completely at some point that I am considering to leave the parish, other days, I think I should ask him if my presence bothers him or what happened.

Sometimes I go to pray to the blessed sacrament and if he is there I feel embarrassed to go in and I just pray from outside the chappel. The other day I noticed that he left like a bit upset.

During mass we have some.eye contact and I know sometimes I have weird thoughts with him, I feel bad but I have never tell or flirt with him.

Please any advise!
