Just sharing that there are more, as you had said, “at least two”:There are at least 2 ancient pagan flood stories:
Well, I do not think anything predates Noah (Genesis). It might predate Moses. Many of those do not predate Noah’s source but point taken.
But Moses is the source. It might predate Moses.
Moses wrote about it, but the ‘source’ existed before him, since it is written from the perspective of God, and events recorded that only God could know. But Moses is the source.
Heliocentrism is a fact. Spaceflight would not be possible with it. I believe you meant to say geocentrism.it’s on a level of a Catholic holding to heliocentrism
From the Journal of American Folklore (1919) “Tahltan Tales” (paraphrased for brevity):About 12,000 years ago, the valleys of western Montana lay beneath a lake nearly 2,000 feet deep. Glacial Lake Missoula formed as the Cordilleran Ice Sheet dammed the Clark Fork River just as it entered Idaho. The rising water behind the glacial dam weakened it until water burst through in a catastrophic flood that raced across Idaho, Oregon, and Washington toward the Pacific Ocean. Thundering waves and chunks of ice tore away soils and mountainsides, deposited giant ripple marks, created the scablands of eastern Washington and carved the Columbia River Gorge. Over the course of centuries, Glacial Lake Missoula filled and emptied in repeated cycles, leaving its story embedded in the land.
Flood Facts:
- The ice dam was over 2000 feet tall.
- Glacial Lake Missoula was as big as Lakes Erie and Ontario combined.
- The flood waters ran with the force equal to 60 Amazon Rivers.
- Car-sized boulders embedded in ice floated some 500 miles; they can still be seen today!
The Tahltan people’s (British Columbia) account of The Great Flood
Sounds like the Genesis account.Very long ago, when the world was very young, all the people were together in one country…they talked one language. There were humans, and semi-humans. Some were of a great size, giants. The semi-humans were very wicked and cannibals. One day, the animals sensed something was going to happen and became very tame and went to the human’s houses.
A heavy rain set in. It rained for many days and nights. Rivers overflowed, oceans rose and the earth tipped on it’s axis. The whole earth was covered by water except the highest peaks. The people who took refuge on rafts were able to save themselves. Animals who reached the highest peaks were saved. Many species became extinct. Most of the wicked people and the giants were killed. The flood came to destroy all the bad people long ago.
