It says they react though. Do you at least see that?It still doesn’t say that people in heaven hear us asking to pray for them.

I’d have to see the verse again, but I believe it says the angels react, not the people in heaven. It says they react though. Do you at least see that?
Even if that’s the case, I’m sure you reject praying to angels too.I’d have to see the verse again, but I believe it says the angels react, not the people in heaven.
Yes I object to praying to angels. If you pray directly to Jesus then you know 100% that he hears your prayers. If you want other people on earth to pray for you too, then that is okay as well.Even if that’s the case, I’m sure you reject praying to angels too.
Can you show me verse that says Jesus hears our prayers in heaven?Yes I object to praying to angels. If you pray directly to Jesus then you know 100% that he hears your prayers. If you want other people on earth to pray for you too, then that is okay as well.
I see what you’re doing, but its not the same thing. Can you show me verse that says Jesus hears our prayers in heaven?
Your appeal would have more weight if you had a verse which when read in context says that they do not hear our petitions. Since there are many which imply they do, can you produce one which says they definitively do not hear our petitions or know what our condition it.None of the verses say they HEAR our prayers. There are verses of them carrying bowls of prayers, but there are no verses that say they hear our prayers.

(Hint) As Catholics we do hold that they do, only because God allows it, not by their own will. As in all things, it is God who is the final and ultimate arbitrator of all things./QUOTE
Why take a chance that your prayers are not being heard? The verses given to say that saints pray for us in heaven are not very specific.
There is no doubt that Jesus hears our prayers. Why not just pray to Jesus then? If you ask another christian on earth to pray for you, then you also know that Jesus will hear their prayers too. There is no doubt.
That doesn’t say that he can hear us, perhaps he just gives general petitions for us before God.I see what you’re doing, but its not the same thing.
Jesus is our high priest and mediator.
Hebrews 4:14
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,[a] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.

That if I talk to my living friend about a problem I have, God does not hear my heart in that conversation?
So if I pray and close my eyes and ask a saint to pray for me, God cannot hear that?
tacdon;12015460:
God can hear when you ask a saint in heaven to pray for you, but I don’t think he approves of it when he hears it.So are you saying God does not know my thoughts and desires?

Jon S;12015474:
Again, why should we hold your personal opinion??God can hear when you ask a saint in heaven to pray for you, but I don’t think he approves of it when he hears it.
Can you show in the Bible where God condemns or disapproves asking someone else to pray for you.
And on a side note, whenever I have asked a Saint to pray, I have prayed to God directly as well.
The Rosary one of the best known prayers asking Mary to pray for us, is also full of Prayers directly to God.
Not so. Look here at Hebrews 12; [1] And therefore we also having so great a cloud of witnesses over our head, laying aside every weight and sin which surrounds us, let us run by patience to the fight proposed to us:I can prove it by the fact that you can’t provide scripture that does prove they hear are prayers.
A Jewish practice…not a Christian one.Baby dedication. Jesus’s parents brought him to the temple as a baby
Luke 1:[21] And after eight days were accomplished, that the child should be circumcised, his name was called JESUS, which was called by the angel, before he was conceived in the womb.Give me the verse that says he was taken there for circumcision.
Except that we all can witness to the fact of many multitudes of answered prayers. No…we don’t take chances. Why take a chance that your prayers are not being heard? The verses given to say that saints pray for us in heaven are not very specific.

How do you know? Oh…you don’t do you? But you’re okay with trying to pass this teaching of men off on us?God can hear when you ask a saint in heaven to pray for you, but I don’t think he approves of it when he hears it.
Jesus indeed can handle our prayers, but sometimes we cannot handle our prayers first. Communication with the Saints is a way to not just join our prayers with their’s, it may help us when we have no real words to form for praying.I know that Catholics claim they aren’t praying to saints, they say they are asking the saints to pray for them.
Whether you want to call it praying or asking, it is some form of communication.
I’ll rephrase it for you then. Why don’t catholics just pray to Jesus instead of communicating to saints to pray for them?
Its not like Jesus can’t handle all our prayers. The evidence that Jesus is the mediator between God and man is in the scripture and it is easily and plainly understood. However; the evidence that saints hear our prayers is very little and has to be stretched to make it fit.
No, no it’s not. You can get to TWO Divine Persons, the Father and the Son. But nowhere does it actually say the Holy Spirit is a third Person, as opposed to just being the spirit of God interacting with the universe.but the description of God being 3 in 1 is.
Then shouldn’t you logically object to some psalms? For instance, look at Psalm 103:20Yes I object to praying to angels.
I have some questions, then.Asking someone to pray for us on earth isn’t the same thing as asking a person in heaven to pray for us.
When we ask someone on earth to pray for us we know they hear us.
I said Jesus can handle all our prayers, which includes people on earth that pray for us. People in heaven do not hear us.
