While I have never intentionally been rude to any evangelist (half my family are Jehovah’s Witnesses! Have fun at that family reunion…

), I have found that a faith that is heavily dependent on “saving” souls creates a mindset which engenders rudeness. On more than one occasion, I have had evangelists at my door who have been politely told that I am not interested tell me flat out that if I don’t listen to what they have to say I am destined for hell.
Now, I interpret this in two ways: one, they are genuinely concerned. I find such concern touching, yet annoying. Or, two, and this is probably more common, they are attempting to use fear to get me to let them in my house (they have probably convinced themselves that this purposefully deceptive technique is concern in the process).
The only time I have ever encountered Mormon missionaries will be remembered as one of the most miserable conversations I have ever had with anyone. I actually let them in my house. I actually sat there and listened to them. And when I attempted to counter anything they said, they interrupted and told me I was lying, or that the Pope was lying, or that I was, in general, in desperate need of being saved. After a while, I realized the first mistake was ever letting them inside to begin with and I requested that they leave. After they resisted (very strongly, I will add), I grabbed my roommate’s copy of the Satanic Bible and threatened to start discussing that piece of work with them if they didn’t leave. I don’t know why I didn’t threaten the police, but Anton LaVey got them moving pretty quickly.
So, just so we’re straight, the only Mormons I’ve ever had direct contact with have been some of the rudest people I’ve met. And I haven’t come across a topic started by a Mormon or claiming to be a Mormon on this forum that has been particularly convivial either. So, I guess you can answer your own question, OP, with some self reflection.
