Why "revert" and not "convert"?

wow, amazin you say attack on Christianity when you are horrible to us Muslims
He says you do because you do. When a question is asked about Islam, you do not answer it, but turn it back onto the questioner, saying “what about ______ in Christianity?” And the thing you are usually decrying is some farcical distortion of Christian belief, or out and out LIE. So spare us your whole “waaaah, the Christians are mean to us Muslims!” protestations. They do nothing but further highlight the fact that you would rather bash Christianity than defend your own faith based on its own tenets (which is all I’ve ever seen anyone of any religion use in refuting it, unlike when you try to discredit Christianity using manipulated verses, ripped from their contexts).
the Kabah was built by Abraham if you but study religion. Again, we do NOT worship the black stone. Am sure you can look it up perhaps on Wikipedia or some place if you are really interested in it…but don’t think you are…ya just like to accuse. And Allah knows best at that. You really have a hang up about 'Umar.
I admittedly do not know much about this issue, but from what Muslims have told me here, you guys will kiss the rock as you move around it. This seems odd to me when Muslims then try to tell me that by venerating the saints represented by statues, we Christians are behaving as polytheists. Silly! Again, everything the Muslims accuse Christians of doing is okay when Muslims themselves do it. Why?
wonder what your god Jesus did and said according to the Bible~the New Testament.
“Think NOT that I am come to send PEACE on earth; I. came NOT to send PEACE, but a SWORD.” Matthew 10:34
*"But those my enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring here, and slay them before me. " * Luke 19:27
*“I am come to send FIRE on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
Suppose ye that I am come to give PEACE on earth? I tell you, NAY; but rather DIVISION.” * Luke 12: 49&51
“And, behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his SWORD, and
struck a servant of the high priests, and cut off his ear.”
Matthew 26:51
All of these verses are taken out of context and manipulated to suit the Islamic claims against Christianity, which are FALSE one and all. They have been addressed in the past by me and others, so I will not go over them again. It is sufficient to say that anyone can take a verse from any book out of context for their own uses, both noble and ignoble. In either case, that act of manipulation itself renders the manipulator (you, in this case) suspect, and unworthy of being taken seriously in their claims. Charity is more than just giving a few dirham to the poor as zakat. It is also an approach to living with your fellow human beings, both on the internet and in the real world. 🙂
So please don’t talk to us about the All Loving God who you claim to be Jesus. You teach one thing and leave the other out HOW COME? Why not be honest???
We may all ask you the same…
no, rather your theologians, priests contradict themselves. If they loved their Creator so much, they should ape him or try to be like him, not the opposite.
They do. We all do. This is the ultimate goal of the individual Christian in this life.
It is called LOVE…afterall, you think you are not worthy to die like Jesus did because that was just an event not worth repeating?
What is this all about? Again, your concepts of “worthiness” in Christianity are extremely bizarre to me, as I suspect they would be to all Christians. We know we are not worthy to receive Him (did you never receive the Eucharist in your old church?), for instance. It is through His sacrifice, which is itself a manifestation of His LOVE for us (which we also do not deserve), that we are redeemed in any fashion at all. I don’t know if this answers your question, but Isa Almisry answered it best anyway. A Christian not feeling he is worthy to die in the manner of his Lord is NOT a sign of arrogance, but absolute humility!
amazing…you are dangerous to even non muslims
How is Isa’s (or anyone’s) reply on a messageboard dangerous to anyone anywhere, Muslim or otherwise? Grow up, please.
…your ignorance shows…I suggest you look up on line and see for yourself what sand, the thing that you were created from, does and its benefits.
Genesis 2:7 says “dust”, not sand. Sand is beneficial anyway, of course, but for things like making windshields, not for wiping yourself with!
You cannot win over what Allah has decreed.
As “Allah” is the Arabic word for “God” and pre-dates the invention of Islam, I definitely agree with what you have said here, However, as to the Islamic concept of Allah as it is set down in the Quran, I would say that we do not need to worry about “winning” over it. God is victorious always over all, and it is in Him that we place our faith, lives, and eternal souls.

**Hello,

.

I came in here with no intention of being sarcastic or humiliated and what I saw I didn’t understand why people were/are so mean or could be so mean about Islam…and not too much of it from the Muslims side. Sure accusations were made as well, but the assertions and well just meanness full of hate stemmed from the Christians. So I think he should bite his tongue.

When have I not answered a question yall put forth? * Be HONEST*. I have tried my best (aint super hero here) but what I could I answered and if I have missed any I apologize but the words used in many threads from the Christians are degrading ON PURPOSE! I am not talking just sarcasm which I started using cuz it kinda gets old to try and talk a language they can’t understand so I stoop to some level of their own.

I am not into bashing Christianity sheesh!!! I really think yall need to reread my posts again. Asking *GENUINE QUESTIONS *is not considered bashing! It is yall that just post and bash sayin Mohammad is a liar, saying false things from the Quran, not provin what they say when I call them on it (about Islam which they have criticized ON PURPOSE). Come on, be honest. It isn’t hogwash to hold a dialogue. One person says people aren’t genuine when they come in here…omg if yall talk like this, how can one end up being genuine. Makes people disgusted and you wonder why people get upset with Christian forums.

I have not “ripped” any verses OUT OF CONTEXT. They were simple put forward questions. Yall, think they way you want to think and you can’t seem to come up with the genuine simple answers but you claim “faith” is the key to everything. So if one continues to make you try and prove your faith, WHICH THAT IS NOT WRONG in holding dialogues…for even you will be judged (another contradiction if Jesus died for sins), you get all huffy and puffy and wanna blow the thread down and move on before the kettle boils to black.

I am not wrong in my assertions here when I say you cannot blame the Muslims here for asking genuine sincere questions and yall for not answering them genuinely without sarcasm and ridicule.

hypocritical …one can see it blatantly.

Okay…so you came here because people were being mean about your religion, and now you are upset because…people are being mean aobut your religion. Maybe this is not what you are saying (please correct me if I am wrong), but this is the only meaning I can get from that paragraph. You came here to tell people like Angelos that they should not criticize Islam. Why? This is a Christian forum, dealing with non-Christian religions. They are all criticized from various individual Christians’ perspectives. If you do not like that, I’m sorry. I remember when you first began posting there were some unfounded assumptions made about me and others, though, so I cannot believe you when you say you came here innocently and were terribly insulted by the people here for no reason.

I will look tomorrow for examples if you would like them.
I am not into bashing Christianity sheesh!!!
You may not see it as “bashing”, but understand that insinuating that Jesus was violent based on your Islamic reading of verses where Jesus talks of bringing a sword (which I personally have replied to before here, perhaps not to you, but again, I can find it tomorrow if you want me to) is seen as bashing to Christians. You are taking the words of our Lord out of the context in which they are recorded and twisting them in order to try to paint our Lord as violent, in response to speculations on Islam’s violent nature (this could perhaps be “Exhibit A” in showing you your own tatic of deflecting statements made about Islam with out of context, false insinuations about Christianity).
It is yall that just post and bash sayin Mohammad is a liar, saying false things from the Quran, not provin what they say when I call them on it.
With all due respect, I have seen many posts by you that can be summed up as “Islam has proof and Christianity does not” and you have never once offered any proof of what you say. Or you ask Christians to prove something and you yourself are not able to prove it. It seems to me that the best way to have true dialogue is to admit that there are some things that both communities (indeed ALL faith communities) must take on faith, so you have the same type and quality of “proof” as we do. Your proof is there for you in that you believe in Muhammad and his prophethood. Our proof is there for us in that we believe in Jesus (as he is written about in our scripture, not the Quran) and his divnity. They are both a matter of faith, in that sense. I am willing to grant you the sanctity of your belief if you would grant us the sanctity of ours, but you do not.
I have not “ripped” any verses OUT OF CONTEXT. They were simple put forward questions.
Yes, you have! Such as the verse where Jesus tells his disciples that he came not to bring peace, but a sword (which I said I wouldn’t deal with…oops). You did not even include the context in which it was said (to His apostles, as He sends them out into the world to spread His message), so it just makes things look to those who don’t know better like Jesus is literally talking about hurting people with a sword! In fact, in context we see that Jesus is talking about His message, which will set families against each other and divide the world as surely as the sword did in the hands of some later prophets like Muhammad who did literally spread their faith with a sword.
Yall, think they way you want to think and you can’t seem to come up with the genuine simple answers but you claim “faith” is the key to everything.
We have come up with thousands of answers, yet none of them seem to pass the “Americanrevert Court of what can be considered an answer”. When will you admit that it is not merely answers that you seek but agreement with Islam?
I am not wrong in my assertions here when I say you cannot blame the Muslims here for asking genuine sincere questions and yall for not answering them genuinely without sarcasm and ridicule.
I don’t think anyone would judge you for asking honest questions about Christianity, but I think most people here (myself included) doubt that this is what you are doing. I have had sincere and enlightening conversations here with Muslims such as Harris and Sister Amy, so it is not blind anti-Islamic feeling that drives me.

So you’re one of these high-minded types? Maybe you could post in your signature, “Full brain-power required to reply” as a gentle reminder to those of us who goof off and don’t take internet forums so seriously. 😃
Says the person who just issued reprimands because other posters were joking around.

Yaa Isa!

Who said women can’t have an ijaazah?

Some of the greatest scholars of Islam include women among their teachers.

Judaism is the VHS copy. 😃

Your guess is as good as mine. 🤷

Okay…

Given that God Almighty is all-powerful and all-knowing, I’m sure He will read the heart and mind of each individual and will know for sure if s/he honestly meant disrespect or if s/he was just utilizing their God-given sense of humor. 🙂

FWIW, I firmly believe God has a sense of humor, due to many circumstances in my own life. 😃
How about reel to reel? Judaism was the reel to reel.
The live action, no rehearsing.

I I do understand what Messiah means thank you and I have studied about Chrismation a little. Thank you for your concern but I do not need to have a priest to anoint me and to bring me into a belief that he can’t prove himself and puts himself on the same level as God.

The priest is a servant as we are, he is chosen and has to show his humblesness also. Say what has happened to this thread all the posts are crooked looking? We beleive in cleanliness too never said we didnot.

So Judaism is VHS, and Christianity is the DVD?

So then Islam is like… Blue Ray. 👍
nope, islam is 1900 silent films

cause you’ll have an angry mob chasing anyone who says anything bad about islam
so its best to be silent about islam 👍

I’m not getting your point. Help me out here…
You see a lighthearted jab as an act of “mocking”, then go on to allude that you’re one of those “who goof off and don’t take internet forums so seriously”

Do we have to draw you a map??

I’d respond to americanconvert but dzheremi has done me the kindness already. Thanks.👍

A number of ‘ulama’.

I can only think of women hadith transmitters, not 'aalimaat.
A number of ‘ulema’? Like 1? That’s a number. 2? Another number. 3? Help me out here.

Subhanallah, there was a woman who went to the madrasa of Muhammad, saaws, and was a teacher of Sahaba and Tabi’een.

A man is a fool who says a woman cannot teach, because a woman is a school. She is half the ummah and gives birth to the other half and in that way is the whole ummah. So a man who denies women the ability to teach has doomed his nation to ignorance.

A map might help, yes. I’m pretty good in geography.
