Why should I become a Catholic?

As far as the rudeness goes (I am sorry someone was rude to you) are you talking to Catholics on the internet or in person? On the internet pretty much anyone can post and usually the anonymity of the internet brings out the worst in people. Most faithful Catholics (this is a generalization) are not rude especially to people who are genuinely interested in the faith. The ones who come across as rude are probably the ones who are used to arguing with secularists.

Furthermore you might want to keep in mind that when you are looking for a religion you should take into consideration the truth of that religion and not be too easily swayed by the rudeness or niceness of the adherents you talk to. I mean yes the love of Christ should show through his Church but there are always people who fall short of this from time to time (myself included). Honestly, if the “truthfulness” of a religion were based upon how nice all of its adherents were, then we should all be Mormon.
I could never join any church that won’t let me drink coffee! 😛

I’m so excited! I love Catholicism. I pray the Rosary daily now, started to read the Catechism, and have finished Pillar of Fire, Pillar of Truth. I always think “how can some Christians be Protestant?”. I feel closer to God now, too.

And I haven’t came across one negative Catholic since the last time I did (in March). I was too quick to judge. I was also too quick to judge the church itself.

Welcome, God bless you, and you are already learning. 🙂

Until you actually join and the love bombing stops.

Because the Catholic church is the one true church that Christ left on this earth
