Why should I become a Catholic?

Is this in the bible anywhere?
Exodus 3:14 God says to Moses ā€œI AMā€ not I was or I will be. Jesus said God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. All are alive to God. They might be long dead to us but they are very much alive to God. Also with God a thousand years are as a day and a day is as a thousand years (see Matthew 22:32, 2Peter 3:8)

Update
I e-mailed the priest at the parish about RCIA and he told me it starts 17th September. šŸ™‚ It feels so far away.

It gives you time to be prepared. You could start reading the daily Mass readings: dailygospel.org/main.php?language=AM&module=readings&localdate=20130822 for instance. Start attending Mass on Sundays. Pray daily–the Rosary or some other solid devotion. I’d recommend the Liturgy of the Hours for Morning and Evening Prayer: divineoffice.org/, if you think you can do it, but if not, just do what you can and don’t obsess over what you do or how much. Read relevant articles on Catholic Answers, etc. This is a golden opportunity to get in gear, so to speak. 😃

But I feel like I am turning Mass into a fashion show for myself. I’m more concerned about what to wear than anything else. I know that a dress should be at least knee-length, but it’s really hard to find one. Either a dress is too short or too revealing. I will also find a dress that’s not revealing, or knee-length, but then I will look at the color and think it’s too bright for Mass. :o And because I am petite, it’s even harder to find a dress.

Thank you for the links. I used to pray the Church of England’s daily prayers, so I am used to long prayers as such.

Don’t fret about it. Bright color is fine, you can always toss a cardigan or scarf over any dress. Just relax.

I really recommend this short video:

READ, PRAY, READ,PRAY, READ,PRAY and you better post something on 18th September!

Two things:
  1. Catholicism for Dummies. An excellent, easily read and understood guide to the teachings of the faith, and the reasons for those teachings.
  2. Jesus Christ. Really. You may go and spend time before Him at most Catholic Parishes. The source and summit of our faith is Christ Jesus, as made present to us by the Holy Spirit in the Holy Eucharist. Ask about ā€œholy hourā€ at a local parish. Then, just go and sit in Christ’s presence. Pray. Read scripture. Gaze upon Him. Tell him from your heart that you are not sure about the faith. Then, simply be as patient with Him s He has been with you.
As Fr. Benedict Groeschel says, ā€œWhen you are aware that He is there, you will be changed.ā€

I may not attend RCIA because it ends at 9pm, and in Winter it gets dark quickly. I live in a quite dangerous area, so it’s not a likeable situation. The priest says he can instruct me himself, to fit my schedule and for my safety. I’m still deciding, but I am not going to let satan stop me from becoming a Catholic. He tried twice yesterday through my anxiety.

Satan can also stop you by throwing roadblocks in your way. The priest offered a great solution. Take it! Also, perhaps one of the other members could walk you home. I think you said the church was very close.
