Some Christians (and non-Christians) take exception to things like disciples of Mohammad flying airplanes into buildings and killing innocent people. For many, this sort of thing and the entire Islamic terrorist enterprise reflects badly on Mohammad and on all who follow him.

Perhaps if christians took the defense of their faith seriously they would be taken seriously when they protest. When Muslims speak they are listened to and taken seriously. We take our faith very seriously, you lose your members to us because you lack the will to tell it like it is and act upon slanderous attacks. Christians do not believe Mohammed was a prophet, nor that he spoke for God. Christians do not believe that the Koran holds the Truth.

Two state this belief is not an insult any more than a Muslim stating he does not believe Christianity is true is an insult.

Here is an example of an insult that would be a criminal offense and in some parts of the Muslim world legal grounds for prosecution

I posted this in another room, but I think it’s relevant to this topic as well.

Wasn’t Islam initially spread through the Middle East primarily through war? Although initially these wars were defensive in nature they gradually became more offensive and were used as a tool to spread Islam through out the Middle East. Along the way didn’t Muhammad kill innocent people, plunder towns, and pocket the riches (these stories are told in the Qu’ran)? With a religion initially founded and spread through war it is easy to understand why that underlying tone is still in Islam. For anyone to claim that Islam is a religion of peace, acceptance, and love is to deny the very history and founding of Islam.

One might say that Christianity also had it’s fair history of violence also. This is very true. However, Jesus did not condone violence and regularly discouraged violence through out the Scriptures. The violence in Christian history was a reflection of the sinful nature of man rather than “a violent message” of God. In Christianity’s case, it was the action of man in direct contradiction of Christian belief.

In the Islamic case, it is the action of man perpetuating the bloody teachings and history of Islam.

It seems to me that Muslims are not as “peaceful” as they claim to be. Proof here in the pudding. Sadly, it seems that everything which seems to go against their (Islamic) “beliefs” is looked upon as grounds for some type of retaliation. If “Hadith” finds such posts blasphemous to his religion, then he should not be on a Catholic website trying to proselytize it’s members!

And btw, Christians are very serious indeed about their faith! It is only the poor souls who considered themselves of no religion who blashemy the Lord, the Son of God - or those who were once baptized in the Christian religion, know nothing of it through sheer ignorance and bad upbringing - who readily blashphemy the Christian faith! These people will have alot to answer for on Judgment Day! And we must pray for them.

Islam must come to the realization that God is a God of love, not a God of vengence. Their hearts must be opened to accept the grace of truth that God sent His only begotten Son to redeem mankind. It will be through this revelation that peace will prevail.

God will ultimately bring this about - through the powerful prayers of the most Blessed Virgin Mary. The one good and positive thing that Islam has, amazingly enough, in conjunction with Christianity, is the veneration of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Strangely enough, Muslims venerate Mary - but not Her Son. There is a good reason for this! God has given them the grace to accept Mary; because it will be through Mary that Islam will be converted and there will be peace in the world! Mary will be - AND IS - the reason for conversions in the world. It is Mary Who brings souls to Her Son!

It does get their attention. I point you to the controversy in Europe over there publishing those blasphemeious cartoons of Allah. The Ummah rose up and the wicked relented to offer appologies. The wicked in the world, like small children, only understand a firm hand and threats, it is all that works. Until the PLO began blowing up aircraft they were ignored as a people and now we see Hammas has finally taken the lead in Palestine and we see that violence does breed legitimacy. This is the best way to stop insults to Muhammad.
