Why the bible is most assuredly not a Catholic book,

God loves the simple minded as much as he does the intellecural. The gospel of Christ is quite simple, yet it is deep. Jesus Christ who is God in the flesh died on the cross and rose in three days. Wen He was crucified He took our sins on Himself so that we might be righteous and approach God.
But the Evangelical Fundametalist view oversimplifies the Gospel.

=CWBetts-It is no use asking for a simple religion. Nothing real is simple. Even this desk in front of me is appears simple but if you to were to ask a bichemist about the chemical composition, or a physicist to explain how photons interact with the eye you would see it is indeed very complex— C. S. Lewis
***That idea that somehow the 16th. Century Teaching of TRENT on the Creed is somehow too complicated for today, seems to me to be flirting with error.

Thruth remains truth even if nobody believes it:thumbsup:

And just as the Ten Commandments are FAR MORE than the ten catagories of sin they actually encompass, so too our Creeds express only the most basic essentials of our glorious faith.

“Less is not more” Less is ignorance of the Faith and beliefs that we hold and practice.***

Love and prayers,

Then Peter did

Repent and be baptized

Then Paul did

Repent and be baptized.
If you would actualy get into Paul’s writings, and the FIrst 2 Papal Encyclicals (1 Peter and 2 Peter) you would see a deep. complex, Catholic Theology, not some watered down monstrosity.

The letters are a handbook on on how to live the Christian life. Again very straight foward and not complicated

Actually they are loaded with deep theological truth. VArious letters speak of the teaching authority of the Church, the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, the Salvific nature of Baptism, the necessity of continuing in the faith, the list goes on and on.

My respoce: And this explains how and WHY there are today in a period of about 400 years, now in EXCESS of 30,000 different denomional Protestant Church’s 🤷

simple, straight foward yet can be deep.

Salvation is from the Catholics.

oh sorry Salvation is from the Jews.
Explain what you mean “Salvation is from the Jews.”

God knew for all eternity of the Incarnation. This special event had to be of a people prepared by God to be able to recognize the Messiah and to understand some basic theology (only 1 God etc). Polytheism was rampant early on. God chose the Jews and basically seperated them from the rest of all worldly society. This went on for 2000 years until at some point all was set for the Incarnation.

Jews and Catholics are historically connected. I have read Catholicism described as post-Messianic Judaism. If you have ever attended a Catholic Mass and ever attended or are familiar with a Seder meal … you will find similiarities.

In my opinion, the spiritual and historical connections of Jews and Catholics, are closer than those of Catholics and the reformers.

And every bit of the depth is all but ignored by the Fundamentalist Evangelicals. They deny the Real Presence in th Eucharist. They deny the necessity of faithfulness. They deny the necessity of baptism for salvation. The Fundamentalist Bible might as well be one sentence: “repent and be saved”

John 4:22- …salvation is of the Jews.

In its essence alhough for CWs benefit it is “deeper” than this- Salvation is of Jesus is from Jesus, Jesus has come through the Jews.
Are you not aware of how Gentile Christians have tried to remove anything Jewish in your church? and even claim that Gods everlasting covenant with them no longer is in place?

Have you no nderstanding that Catholicism is the fullness of Judaism?

simple, straightforward can be deep I left out uncomplicated.
I certainly dont deny the real presence of Christ in the Lords Supper.
I define that presence differently than you. I do not deny faithfullness and know of no one the does. I am a firm believer in baptism, when one is of the age of consent to make that decision.
Repent and be saved. Have God in your life. Learn the voice of Him who walks with you daily and has a real presence with you every moment of your life. Jesus is closer to you every moment of your life than any family member walk with Jesus talk with Jesus discuss you problems with Jesus ask His help, Listen to Him when He talks.Dont let anything come between you and Him. Place Him foremost in your thoughts and affections.

Simple really, not complicated straight foward.

Love and prayers,
There are not 30,000 denominations, that has been debunked many times. You appear to be stuck on this point and unable to discuss anything else.

Actually, and more to the point if you stop and think about it, there are as many denominations within Protestantism as there are Protestants given the Protestant dogma of private judgment.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
JESUS CHRIST.

No … back up this claim with some examples. Again … without sources or even examples these is just bluster.
If I do and I have many examples will you consider them? Will it make any difference in your attitude?

Have you not heard of Replacement Theology?
