Name dropping, huh? Whatever he said cannot be taken out of context, which is sadly a very common and deceptive practice in certain anti-Catholic bible communities.

Are you ignoring Matthew 5:13-16? Methinks so.

If you take (or twist) one man’s words and use them to make your doctrine, you once again prove the absolute failure of bible alone.

Jesus did not teach it. Man did - and does.

So what is God’s point in wanting us to know them?
Your assuming God wants us to know certain things. Jesus never taught about original sin, the assumption, papal infallibility, etc.

Jesus also never taught physics or the periodic table of elements, but they exist. Whether or not God wants us to know about them is not necessarily relevant to the effect that those things have on the people who know about them. Likewise with the theological stuff. It depends on how the knowledge is used whether or not it’s beneficial.

Whatever you are blithering about has nothing in common with Catholicism. And blithering is all you can do if you do not even know what “The Church Invisible” means. If you took the time to look it up, you would be quite surprised to find out how totally off base you are.

I’m sure I’ll hear ‘argument from authority’ bleated at me , but for a poster who’s been here all of 2 months to sneer (“blither”) at a poster who has not only been here for many years, but has been a recognized and valued member, insightful, respectful, and incredibly well-informed (your blast to the contrary) shows a rather ignorant attitude.
