  1. The media only reports anti-Trump news. All of this occurred during 8 years of Obama - and we did not have front page news. Why is that?
Hypocrisy.
  1. Liberal/progressive members of the US government were instrumental in formulating and passing these laws. Now they are screaming.
Hypocrisy.
  1. If there is no news favorable to the progressive left, they make it up. The only thing true about “fake news” is that it really happens.
Hidden bias.
  1. If you want real news, you cannot get it from the media. They have a political agenda and they have power to “program” our thinking.
I reject them and their power.

What about the parents?

In FY 2011, 16,067 unaccompanied children (UAC’s) were apprehended at the Southern border.

In FY 2014, it was over 68,500.

FY 2015 saw a decline-- only 39,970.

FY 2016, back up to 59,692.

UAC’s are defined as:
  • children who lack lawful immigration status in the United States,
  • who are under the age of 18, and
  • who either are without a parent or legal guardian in the United States or without a parent or legal guardian in the United States who is available to provide care and physical custody
Foreign nationals from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico accounted for almost all UAC cases in recent years, especially in FY2014. In FY2009, Mexico accounted for 82% of the 19,688 UAC apprehensions at the Southwest border, while the other three Central American countries accounted for 17%. In FY2014, the proportions had almost reversed, with Mexican nationals comprising 23% of UAC apprehensions and the three Central American countries.
Now, if you have over 200,000 UAC’s arriving at Colombo over a period of, say, six years— and you see they’re coming from Thailand, and Cambodia, and Vietnam— and they’re allowed to take that trip all by themselves.

What do you do with them?

Of the 12,000 kids currently in US immigration custody, 10,000 of them are exactly that: unaccompanied children who have traveled over 2,000 miles across multiple borders.

Of the 12,000 kids, only 2,000 of them are children who came with their families, presumably because kids can’t be safely detained with an adult population. So kids get detained with kids, and adults are detained with adults.

We (the Dept of Health & Human Services) have resettled 7,635 kids from El Salvador/Guatemala/Honduras between 10/17-12/17. That’s almost 8k kids in a three-month period, and we spent $1.4 billion to accommodate nearly 41k unaccompanied minors in 2017 . O_o

If you want to be concerned about an administration’s “adventures”, you might direct your magnifying glass to examine Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador a little more closely, and figure out what’s going on there that make parents think it’s a good idea to send their kids on that kind of a journey all by themselves.

We’re probably the most merciful government in the world. Go cross the border into Mexico illegally and see how you’re treated as an American.

One cannot compare Pres. Obama’s administration to Donald’s (aka Cadet Bone Spurs) administration.
  1. Pres. Obama did NOT separate children from their parents. Press. Obama’s plan worked very well , unlike Donald’s plan that is NOT working well at all. He has most of the world crying foul for his actions.
  2. Most Americans were please at the time what Pres. Obama was doing – and fairly so. Righties loved it.

I don’t how it was merciful to drop two atomic bombs resulting in the murder of thousands of innocent children. Also I don’t see how it was merciful to round up Americans of japanese descent and put them in internment camps. And was it merciful for the government to go along with the enslavement of thousands of young women from Africa?

Lots of bad things happen.

List all of them.

Meanwhile explain why, if the USA is so evil, people want to come here.

The standard of living is pretty high and there are opportunities to advance economically. Also, it is easier to buy guns in the USA than in some other countries.

Yeah that comment makes no sense in the current conversation.

So what country, in the same time period of your examples, was a better country than the US?

The US government is demonstrably more merciful and kind than the governments of the countries these people are fleeing.

Ban all welfare for illegals.

Free plane tickets back home.

Take care of our veterans!!

And yet the US Citizenry give more in charity then any country in the world.(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

easier to buy guns

are you serious??
I read that it was easy for Lee Harvey Oswald to get a gun by mail order. Presently there are about 300 million non-military guns in all in the USA. The USA is ranked quite high among all countries for non-military gun ownership.

What would Sri Lanka do if a bunch of Indians started illegally showing up on the beach?

It’s American exceptionalism that tends to get this country into trouble. Amazing to some people, our country is far from perfect or the best at everything.

US has “no mercy” towards immigrants? Nothing could be farther from the truth. The US accepts more immigrants than any other nation on earth.

Lol I have a Mexican facebook friend who is a total gunsense advocate-now that shes here and married to an American. Its like, don’t change my country into yours by advocating the same poor policies that led to gangs and crony beurocrats having all the control in Mexico.
