Working parents I talk to admit to seeing Preschool as day care. Guess it depends on your company.
The lesson, then, is not to generalize about how parents view preschool. 😉
Parents are more than welcome to do what they want, but I have never seen a study showing preschool and Head Start make any cognitive advantages that go past third grade.
Do some more research – they’re out there.

Additionally, I sent my oldest to our parish’s preschool, where she received a healthy introduction to the faith and catechism. *That *advantage won’t disappear past third grade.

a second car, fuel
Wouldn’t you need a second car to drive your kids places(friend’s house, soccer match, school, etc.) while the other parent is at work? Or to drive to the shop during the day if you realise you need something(milk, bread, whatever) that you forgot to buy earlier?

if women quit workforce to become stay-at-home moms, then women unemployment drops.
The stat I compared was female unemployment level from Dec. 2013 to Dec. 2014. In order to dismiss the data based on what you describe above, there would have to have been a significant change in women choosing to stay home at the beginning versus the end of that date range. Is there evidence of that? Otherwise, the stat will have already accounted for what you describe.

Unemployment rates only consider those who are looking for work. The retired, SAHMs, disabled, etc don’t count.
