Why vote for Biden as Catholics?

Yes god choses the most unlikely people. Like donald Trump.
I 've seen people drummed out at work but never seen people drummed out of the white house.

Do you think that the elimination of the congratulatory post congratulating a Catholic President-elect from a Catholic on a Catholic forum shows a clear bias?

You’ll just have to ask yourself what a pro-“choice” vote really meant, in a year or two (assuming they do become pres/vp).

I wasn’t voting “pro-choice.” I was voting pro-common sense, pro-facts, pro-science, pro-immigrant, pro-social programs and so on.

That’s being patronizing to and making unsubstantiated claims about those who voted. 74,000,000+ voted for candidates whom they wanted. Indeed, most of the country repudiated what’s his name, but two excellent and qualified candidates were on the ballot. Most people voted for change, for candidates who would bring hope and promise to America. They voted for candidates that would be leaders for all Americans, and not just specific group.

Mocking Biden’s stutter and that reporters physical disability. How Christlike of him.

I wonder, who is the real Mike Pence? What do you think?
He seems like a decent polite person. A good career politician. I think he’d do quite well in 2024. I’d definitely prefer him over the choices we’ve had recently.

2004 comes to mind, that was essentially a referendum for or against George W Bush as John Kerry was in many ways Bush’s democrat clone that offered next to nothing as a presidential candidate. I would argue that 2012 was similar, Mutt Romney was as close to being like Obama, policy-wise, as any Republican could be.

2016 was about the choice between two versions of Charlemagne, 2020 has been about the love or hatred of Trump because even polling showed that less than 30% of Biden voters were voting FOR Biden as opposed to voting against Trump.

“Nor, on the other hand, is he to be restrained from acting in accordance with his conscience, especially in matters religious.”
This does not condone actively seeking abortions or making them legal as President. You’re not interpreting those words with 100% accuracy.
I’ll pose a question to you: If Jesus had voted in this election, who would he have voted for?
I imagine Jesus would be disappointed with both candidates and may actually cast a vote for neither. Trump completely throws Christ’s words about turning the other cheek and loving your neighbor out the window. Biden admittedly acts more polite but many of his positions are not in line with Sacred Scripture or Church teaching. That is not to say all of Trump’s are either, but we know abortion and sodomy are sins that “cry to heaven with a vengeance”. Not caring to protect the environment and acting too strongly against immigrants are bad policies, but they aren’t in the same league as abortion or homosexual unions, morally speaking.

Has there ever been a US Presidential election where almost everyone voting seemed to be casting a vote against the opposition candidate instead of for the candidate that they actually voted for.
Yes, it actually happened four years ago. The primary reason Trump won that year is because Hillary was just as unpopular as Trump. Many voters simply did not trust her. I myself had issues with Trump in 2016 but voted for him because I didn’t want a Hillary Clinton presidency. It was a vote against Clinton more-so than a vote for Trump.

This time, many voted for Biden not necessarily because they liked him - many know Biden, as nice a man as he is, is just another run-of-the-mill career politician - but because they were tired of Trump.

I’m sure there have been other elections where this has happened, too, but perhaps to a lesser extent.

Nothing says Trump won’t run again in 4 years. God help us.
He may, but I personally think it’s more likely that his son, Don Jr, runs. He had supposedly already been contemplating entering politics once his dad was out of office.

If I were Trump, I would personally enjoy retirement and not consider running again. He’d be 78 by then and after losing this election, I don’t think either side would want to see him come back. Trump has repeatedly shown that he just doesn’t seem capable of admitting to mistakes or changing for the better. I can’t judge his motives, but he doesn’t seem to have learned his lesson after losing and I don’t think he ever will. I doubt he will ever admit to botching his response to coronavirus, at least not publicly. He should go play golf at his resort in Florida and just be content with his life’s accomplishment. He may have lost re-election but he still was a billionaire, successful businessman and television personality, and though only serving one term, WAS a US President who left his mark on politics and the Supreme Court for generations to come.

What left is there to accomplish?

Just want to point out that you mistyped Senator Romney’s name. You might want to correct it lest people get the wrong impression.
