Why weren't the ECF's Epistle added in the Bible?

Randy your post seems to fit well with what the First Vatican Council said, your explaination seems consistent with official Catholic doctrine.If the canon were closed in 405 wouldn’t ALL of Christendom agree at that time?

I would say that at least a majority of the Bishops in communion with Rome would agree at that time.

The Church had its hands full defeating a lot of heresy in the first centuries. At one point, most bishops had embraced its false teachings. If not for St. Athanasius, Arianism would have carried the day. Ultimately, the Bishops were won over to the corrrect position.

In our time, the theologians of the Church expected Paul VI to end the Church’s opposition to Artificial Birth Control at the time of his encyclical, Humanae Vitae, in 1965. He did the opposite by reaffirming the Church’s teaching.

Jesus did not establish a democracy of one man, one vote. He established a kingdom, and majority does not rule.
