My very Protestant mother has a whole wall of her house dedicated to pictures of her parents and grandparents, and of us kids at various stages of our lives. 🙂

I was seriously disappointed when I went to church last Sunday. There was ONE, I’ll say it again, ONE statue of Mary. I was lead to believe that Catholic Churches were covered in statues of Mary

😛

Everywhere I looked however, there was Christ on the Cross.

How confusing is that 😃

Yeah, I know. 🤷 I think we’re in the wrong Catholic Church!! Because I can’t find any of these idol worshipping sinners that I was so looking forward to having Bacchanalias with.

Did the Book of Baruch, Chapter 6 lead you to this? Why do former Catholics never mention Baruch 6?

Just had to say this Ag_not…i think many here at CAF will be eagerly waiting for news of your baptism next year.

As for those idolatrous images in the Church, don’t feel bad. We also have only one statue of Mary in my parish - and its not even inside the building but outside it. We do have a huge crucifix inside, hand crafted by an Indonesian Muslim artist.😉

This is what my parish looks like:
Go to smota.org/ and click on the ‘Art and Architecture’ tab. 🙂

We do? Huh. I’ve been Catholic for 43 years, and I’ve never seen anybody worship a statue. Have I missed something? 🤷
I think Patience was being facetious.

I also think this entire thread and all those like it are a big waste of time. This guy has his mind made up and doesn’t intend to be sways by anything as trivial as truth or facts. I’m bored with it and hope I can find something of actual value to read.

No, the OP is still young, I think, and thus more amenable to the wisdom that often (though not always) comes with age.

And even if he did have his mind set like flint, God can melt his mind (and heart) and bring him back to truth, if the OP turns to Him. Maybe it won’t be today, or tomorrow, or next year. . .maybe it won’t be for many years. . .but somebody’s words (even if the OP appears to ignore them, or even REFUTE them) may bear fruit some day.
